Does this docker image allow for micro instances of both linux and windows or strictly windows?
This matters to me as I have a ridiculously overpowered workstation (Thank you MS/FB for selling all your 2011 v2s for pennies) that would be able to run Docker machines without breaking a sweat. I wouldn't bother with Windows Images, but Linux images would be awesome.
Upgrading from Windows 7/8/XP/Vista to 10 is a no brainer. More features, better security, greater cloud integration to save all those files online instead of on some USB you'll end up losing.
Yes the HARDCORE FOLKS will cry "SECURITY! MALWARE! INVASION OF PRIVACY!!11!" and more nonsense. The average person who asks me if they should upgrade I say yes.
AVERAGE.
For the gamer person the addition of integrated video recording of games, nice slick update process, and Xbox syncronization are a win/win. If you are a die hard Playstation person who loves Windows 7, no reason to switch.
Windows XP and Windows 2003 systems are prone to all sorts of horrible security flaws. Reading the Fucking Article I see that the newer, non EOL, equipment isn't prone to any of these problems.
I wonder how many vulnerabilities are in older Cisco routers that haven't been patched since 2007?
Have you even used Windows 10? Is the hatred of M$ still that strong on here after all these years that the mouth breathing haters trot out this line ?
Windows 10 an amazing OS that has many of the enterprise features that I need for my day to day tasks with integrated applications that the business requires. The system is rock stable and have yet to see a problem even deployed on some of the worst 'power users' I have that frequently do stupid things.
OSX has most of these tools I need with the addition of *NIX shell applications. Once those shell applications are tied into the baseline OS, Windows 10 100%.
The only thing keeping me on my mac is the heavy integration of native *NIX tools for the command line.
Yes I could install cygwin (it's a mess), I could use putty (has limitations) for ssh, or other apps that mirror the functionality of *NIX CLI tools, but none work as good as having everything built into the core of the OS.
If this allows me to open up a cmd.exe and ssh to systems right off the bat, I'm scrapping the macbook and getting a surface pro.
Not to defend the other guys but they have razor thin margins on most of their products. Apple could double the wages of the Chinese workers and still make tons of money.
Apple doesn't set the wages of the companies that make it's products. They don't OWN foxconn or Samsung, they contract out all the manufacturing and rake in the profits.
The last thing I want to see is Apple demanding the companies they hire to make their products increase their wages because it's the Right Thing (TM). The precedent that would set would cause a fallout beyond belief in the manufacturing sector.
I'm glad the new overlords went and fired all the clickbait posting editors and replaced them with knowledgeable geeks that know about news that matters.
Please bring this back. I miss this site and all it's wonderful gory detail about the crap that went on during the glory and dying days of the dot com bubble.
The founder of Pi worked at Broadcom, Broadcom gave them buttloads of code and chips for next to nothing, therefore it made 100% sense to build a board that is simple and easy to use based on this type of cheap and well known tech. Broadcom is using the Pi as a springboard into other projects using the whole Razor vs. Razor Blade methodology of sales. Broadcom may be making very thin margins but they are still making some profit on the chips and boards.
Intel already tried build a Pi type board, it doesn't have anywhere near the amount of applications the Pi does so why bother using it?
because how else could the attackers have been in so many places at once. Magic? Jet Packs?!?!? Why it's the Car's that they drove to those locations that enabled them to murderate all those people. If we would just get rid of all cars in Paris this would never happen again.
Does MS even track CVE's internally or externally? I honestly don't know if they do/don't and would love to see what they were doing in the past.
Right now ANY information is better than NO information as I'm trying to push updates to clients and these fixes are all a Mystery of what could be a fix for an issue and something that I want to wait for awhile.
I much before WRECKED as it gives off this whole, I dunno, edgy vibe from some of the COD meme's i've seen about. If the devs make a sub package called m8, wot, or mlg I know they are in on the joke.
For those of you that have no clue what I'm talking about turn the volume down and watch this:
You've never seen the graphs, the charts, the data that comes from this site. It's astounding to watch, I used to have a TV showing all the traffic coming from various countries and it was like watching Thermonuclear Warfare in action.
You've probably never heard of that game from a movie you've never watched either. We get it.

I have never seen "Software as a Service" used that many times in one post before. Do you get paid per usage?
Stallman is that you?
Good for who did during .
That way we can get all the outrage and praise in all at once.
No Shit sherlock.

The stories of abject failure, malfeasance, and mismanagement alone would be worth the price of 10 of those startups.
which ones? Mesh Networks? Star Networks? P2P Networks?
We have moved beyond mere networking in those terms, we are now talking in terms of SPHERES!

they now have their backdoor into the system courtesy of the Chinese.
Apple has done it's damndest to support hardware back as far as it can go, even the iphone 3GS was getting recent updates and that's 8 (?) years old.
Google says "You COULD update those devices" and then leaves it upto the manufacturers to handle updates, which they only do if it suits them.
Glad to see the editing is as full of Quality as before with the new owners. Did the new OverLords hire Fudzilla writers as well?
Yes they did good stuff back in the day. Lately nothing out of that whole huge back catalogue. Good on MS for shutting down a stagnant failing studio.
please someone mod this +5 Winning or something.
