What if you're a German rushing your poor sickly mother down the autobahn to the hospital for some emergency and you couldn't get her there in time and she died because some Swedish stuffed shirt decided that YOUR damn Volvo shouldn't go over 112mph?
They must've never worked with NASA before...
Anyway the only cargo vehicle that returns to earth is the Dragon and the last one of those to come back was in December, and that was after the possible abandonment scare from the October Proton failure. Plus these sound pretty big so I wouldn't be surprised if they get bumped a couple times to make room for higher-priority items.
Somebody mentioned the uncrewed Dragon demo, but if it's not designed for cargo then it can't take it. It wouldn't have the right restraints and SpaceX may not be able to do the CoG estimates that they need.
Also the Soyuz has a little bit of space for cargo, but it's usually Russian priority cargo, so I doubt these old servers will make the cut. They'll get them when they get them.
I don't think they have a cargo vehicle. Boeing is working on the CST but that's for people and will only hold a little bit of cargo.
Sierra Nevada didn't get approval to use the Dreamchaser for people, so they decided to rejigger it for cargo. The shape of it looks like it will make it a PITA to unload though.
You might as well get what money you can while you can. Owning a book store does not sound like a thing that is going to last for long.
Maybe if you ask nicely, you can get Amazon to put some of their delivery lockers in your store.
I can't think of a single iOS app that would be useful to run, and doesn't already exist on a Mac.
And I'm not talking about app versions of webpages, like ESPN or Pizza Hut.
If you can think of one, please list it here.
That was my reaction too when the Verge posted this a couple days ago. The guy is supposed to be a technology journalist, and he talks about them using "millions of watts" of electricity.
"'It’s the policymakers’ responsibility to create a structure that leads to these technologies being put toward fuel economy,' "
No, it's the market's responsibility.
I didn't say we shouldn't improve on the idea. I'm saying that any article about an electric car's performance is moot. Given today's technology, you can make an electric car do almost anything you want except be practical by itself.
You can make an electric car do whatever you want. You can put big motors in them and make them pull stumps, you can put tall gears in them and make them run 175mph, you can put big batteries in them and cut weight so people can drive 100 miles on a charge, but the one thing you cannot do is take them from an empty charge to full in 5 minutes nearly anyplace in the United States.
I'm sick of seeing headlines about how some car can go 0-60 faster than a Porsche or whatever. It's all pointless right now.
"...will be cheaper and easier-to-build than NASA's space shuttle."
I would hope they could build something cheaper and easier than the 30-plus-year-old shuttle.
iPhone apps are great and all, but they're not much use to people who don't have iPhones. Why not work on regular old websites?
Also you run the risk of Apple pulling your app from the store. Then there's thousands of taxpayer pounds down the drain.
As far as I know, they all use two photos. You may only get one in the mail but the city/county/state will have both pictures available for you to see.
No what they do is put 6 decks in the shoe but then play 4+ (they will reshuffle somewhere in the middle of the 5th deck).
I had heard before that for the most part they don't care about people trying to count cards because it's hard to do correctly, and if you don't do it correctly then you're going to lose in the long run anyway. I suppose this system is one way to weed out the people who are doing it correctly.
+1 to turbines.

My wife and I were there and got to watch from the beach where they were filming shortly after liftoff. It was cool. You should go see one sometime.
Yeah we saw it on Nov. 28 first. It was still in the chamber at that point but the door was open.
It was out of the freezer before Christmas. My wife works at JSC and we waited in line for 4 hours to see it back on Dec. 20.
What makes you think it's unsupported? Microsoft still supports XP if you pay for it.
With a project named "Watson". Or maybe not. I dunno.

In the scenario listed, if you were the hacker trying to cover his tracks, how would you ever know if the attack was successful or not?

and have them teach her how to use her Windows 8 convertible. Please.

I'm kinda curious to see what would happen if you pulled out the platters and put them in a microwave oven.
...Look, if it was really possible to power a car with water ...

Yeah, ask him when it will be done.

For the person that this affects.
