It seems that my company and LiveJournal host at the same datacenter here in Seattle.
Looks like they got hit pretty hard when the datacenter with multiple redundant battery backups and generators had a massive cascade emergency power off, and every server in the building got shutdown at once. LiveJournal got hit the hardest, they had some IDE drives on their servers, doh!
Looks like even multiple redundant battery backup with power generator datacenters are still vulnerable to dumbass electricians who don't know what they are doing. The datacenter has been under construction for the past few months too, so you KNOW that had something to do with it.
Looks like we'll have to put a UPS in our cabinet at the multiple redundant battery back up and power generator datacenter housing, seeing as all that backup protection doesn't mean diddly squat.
Remember the old days of the internet? All the internet was, was a loose connection of premium BBS's strung to universities. Ahh the old days..
You couldn't get anywhere NEAr the internet without atleast some knowledge of what that little ATDT was doing, or how to setup the PPP.
Holy crap, one look at their site, and it looks like they are responsible for censoring a little bit of just about everything.
Hmm a small group of individuals responsible for detrimental decisions against us all. Sounds familiar.
This same idea of reorganizing the message without changing the message to conceal a more covert message could be applied to alot of things. I guess its only a matter of time before we had this in software. I wonder what other mediums this can be applied to..
The worlds oceans are going to be one of the last bastions of untouched life. Shores and beaches are being dug up and recreational boating and such already puts alot of pollution into small bodies of water like lakes and streams, not to mention industrial waste. In the middle of the ocean is one of the last places where life can grow unhindered. For the most part.
Hey, that looks like my apache config too..
But I put some sex site in there instead of microsoft. I think that might be why I'm getting so many DoS attacks recently. hmmmm
While I love the attempt at voice communcation on Xbox Live, I've played it, alot, and found that for the most part its too gimmicky to be of any use.
Besides that, its an optional component, so whats the point, you can't tell your teammates in a game anything unless they have the thing plugged in as well. So you might find yourself sitting there talking to yourself. Even still, its not very optimized voice chat (see teamspeak)
I'd prefer a keyboard chat interface for those who shy away from voice communcation.
We would have reams of new OSS developers!
Is nothing sacred? Will we be seeing televangelists condemning "downloading" as a sin next or what?
I can break even on all that old EDO memory I've got!
Too late. Check out this attention whore.
Stop spam, it seems all the fastest most futuristic achievements in technology can't seem to stop a simple thing like spam.
When the paper jams in THAT printer.. yikes!

Maybe NASA should use all that extra cash to hire those guys.
Plant 2 Plant Piracy?
^ evidence here!
Have updatable firmware for their audio player ...
No I don't work for that site, its just that the Soul Player home page has been under construction for the past year or so...
Okay, we already have a English-to-AOL translator, doesn't anyone have a AOL-to-English translator?

Computers seem to be the only place where businesses can shoot their own customers, and still sell them a bullet proof vest.
Now we can have a real live Duck Hunt... But without that fucking dog there to laugh at you when you miss...

top2politicians ----------- rank title in out 1 John Kerry 126,000 100 2 George Bush 124,000 87,543
Whats next, no more Micr0$oft and SCO bashing on Slashdot?
I can't believe they are going to get this to run on X-Box. They should just license the half-life 2 engine and rewrite doom3 for it. oh wait..
Soon we will see people walking around screaming at their phone because someone hacked it? I think that would be amusing.

Does Slashdot count as DoS?
