Isn't wireless sort of bad for the first person shooter type games? I was always under the impression that it added some latency... probably not enough for us campers to notice, but enough to make my younger brother swear and complain.
Because:
New hardware sells new computers.
Johnny luser only knows that he needs more megs and gigs. If you say "exploiting the technology that we have", he will start to drool and stutter.
Hearing about Intel getting smacked around is only slightly less satisfying than hearing about Microsoft getting smacked around.
In all seriousness, It's great that AMD keeps pushing thier technology. If we had the same OS competetion that we have in CPU technology, well... Our OS would be a lot better.
If I was going to start my kids into programming I think I'd start with some easy shell scripts. Seems like you can do almost everything that BASIC did with bash, ksh, etc...
If they can get past doing some basic stuff like that you can move them up to a more complex and capable platform.
Actually, maybe everyone could have perfect pitch recognizion based on colors... wow I'd be a way better musician, not to mention if my bass amp made my balls itch or something.
Because of the way X handles the network, GUI applications really aren't limited to a single Desktop like some other OSs... I will admit though that anyone with a little skill would be able to get the same functionality from the Mac OS.
But your argument is not "GUI", it's "Desktop", and that isn't a new feature either.
What a concept! More than one person logged on to a machine at the same time, running apps in thier own space... Amazing! What will they think of next?
Your logic is lovely... And 100% correct. The problem is more that very few people (Americans) think that way. If you set the same amount of product side by side, one packaged in bulk and one individually wrapped with funny cartoon characters or, heaven forbid, something that makes people think about sex - What happens?
People buy the individually wrapped ones, that's what happens. At at a higher price, no less. Why would any company that produces x ignore this data? They won't! Why? Because we are capitalists.
Therefore communism is the answer! Thank you, Thank you, I'll be here all week.
Seriously, it doesn't help that in our society the only thing that motivates anyone to be environmentally friendly is the rather abstract idea that we are ruining it, and the vague morals that accompany this condition.
In new computers, things will be smaller and faster.
Thanks!
Crap! If I was smarter I would've linked that to start with... good thinking.
Ummm I think the dying variety of BSD is run by demons... Linux must be run by penguins.
Also IBM=Inverted Bowel Movement.
Thanks!
Also, some bushes (and houseplants) that don't die when you pee on them would be nice. Thanks!
Put them in clear glass balls and sell them as Christmas ornaments! They'll be all the rage.
Obviously, letting anyone build the hardware and just licensing the operating system could never be very profitable... what a stupid idea :)

Methinks a cable is not a peripheral... The agreement needs tweaking.
Interestingly enough, and completely offtopic, the second Star Trek movie was Moby Dick.
I'm sure many of you knew that and will now flame me.
Parent post has violated the logic filter! Please take your life immediately.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

I see music.

My point exactly... apparently sarcasm is not widely recognized here.

I liked it.
