M$, once again, forces you to use their application and limits your choice by hiding any method of disabling it, yet you're complaining about Google not liking this?? MS knows that most users just don't care about computer politics and use what is given to them. MS Messenger is a good example-until v8 it was crap-you couldn't even send offline messages-yet it's been the most popular for years. Why? Because it's bundled with the OS.
skip through the installation like anyone else and before I know it all my files are opening in the wrong bloody application If you don't bother to look at what the install is doing, then it's your fault when crap gets installed. Really, how much effort does it take to pay attention to the details of an install wizard, especially today, when almost everything wants you to install "Happy Toolbar" or change your home page. Yes, it is annoying when companies do this, and I wish they didn't but they do and wont stop. I and many others learned my lesson not to trust the installer waay back in the late 90's when installing Real Audio (was it v3 or v4?)
BTW, the other day I installed Windows Live Messenger, and during the install if you don't pay attention and uncheck some options, M$ will change IE's home page, make Windows Live Search your default search, install the MS toolbar.
You're implying that BT is never used for legitimate purposes, yet the parent gives you one, and you simply ignored it. Everything from java to many app trials and game updates are distributed via BT, so saying "This is more like "I finally found something legal on BitTorrent, so now I can complain." just shows that you're a MPAA/RIAA robot. I hope you enjoy their programming...er brainwashing..er education.
"that's the dumbest fucking idea I've heard since I've been at xxxxxxx."
I've heard rumors that that the same line can be heard at my corporation, in addition to fist-on-desk pounding, and finger pointing. No chair-throwing though, yet.
Yes, I'm sure Merck is doing this for the health of women and the good of humanity. Eventhough they are a corporation and their #1 goal is profit over anything else so their board members and execs can make even more millions per year, I'm sure that has nothing to do with it and they are providing their product and services for free. Of course, any study that shows complications and harmful side-effects from this vaccine are all publicly accessible and not covered up by the company either.
Merck is such a nice corporate entity I'm sure it has started mass producing that non-patentable cancer fighting drug mentioned in the news a few days ago. They will make a fraction of the $$ they would off a less effective patentable drug, but remember Merck has such a big heart and will do this for us.
I just quickly glanced at the summary so these may have already been mentioned by the author....
1) Deus Ex. The original (NOT Deus Ex 2) For PC, probably the best game I ever played and although it's six years old I still play it once a year. It's been superseded in graphics, but not in depth of the story. 2) Oblivion, Xbox 360. Since I got this two months ago I haven't played anything else. It allows you to pause during fights so you can pick spells, change weapon, etc., so you dont have to be Quick draw McGraw on the controls. 3) Half Life 2. 4) Tron 2.0. Probably the most colorful game you will ever play. And it's fun too!
No, Bore-at is not funny one bit, and in fact I cringe when I watch him. I've watched his videos in an attempt to get it but I just dont.
Borat is simply this decade's version of the comedic foreigner who speaks well enough English to be understood, but bad enough so he misuses words and mixes up phrases. History repeats itself. It's been done to death before-Yakov, Charlie Farqueson (any canadians out there), Schmenge Brothers (Happy Wanderers-SCTV), ad infinitum.
I'm not saying he's racist, or offensive, as I've seen others post here and there, but instead just not funny. If you enjoy his work great, enjoy it, but it boggles my mind why so many fans give him credit for being such a genius and so original when he is not. He's standing on the shoulders of giants folks.
I just learned somthing new. Seriously! So, are that many games bought in Walmart in the States, or is this article just another guy's opinion disguised as fact? I buy games from computer chains in Canada like Future Shop, Best Buy, or CompuSmart, but never Walmart.
Yeah that's what I want in a company: a CEO who completely distances himself from the workers near the bottom of the ladder. That's the problem with corporations, there is a class structure near the top that rarely interacts with the majority of workers, making those workers feel like they don't matter. I'd pick a company where the top brass is visible and accessible to the workers over one where the CEO is some guy you hear about but never see and can never reach.
Besides, if reading email is taking too much time from the CEO's other duties, he'll notice and adjust his schedule accordingly. Those guys may seem stupid, but they are not.
Show these smart-alec 14 and 18 year old whippersnappers your hairy back, nose hairs, hairy upper arms, point to your gut or bald head and say "Look at me, this is your future, punk!" and that'll put them in their place.
OTOH, when I was in my mid-20's, the first time a young girl in her upper teens called me "Sir", that hurt!:(
Was there an issue with the options layout before? Did they receive complaints about the layout or is this another example of change for the sake of change?
I used to be able to clear all my browsing history from the same page, now history, cookies, cache are all on separate tabs.
Yep. I have played WOW exclusively since late beta, but once I reached 60 (with two characters) the game gets immensely boring, and I finally realized I have better things to do with my time than run into BRD, MC, Strat, etc. dozens of times just to lose a roll on an item I want that has a 1 in 20 drop rate.
WOW was great, but like all things, good or bad, they come to an end and people eventually move on to other things. I actually played HL2 again recently and it was so refreshing knowing that it will be over in a few days instead of going on for months. Personally I dont see my self playing another MMORPG because of the huge time investment that is needed.
People that use MySql will now dump it for alternatives because they dont want to touch anything that touches SCO. MySql's market share will definitely not grow from this.
Even easier if you live in the US...it's your own government.

Ok, your comment is just silly.

Anyone else read it as the Arse I Rocket?
Once, I remember, I had no sex life so I watched three Star Wars movies in a row.

My wife's high school boyfriend...
I had to read that line over a few times...
station for thirty-something couch potatoes
Sure, 30-somethings that have the mentality of 12 year olds.
But how about those remarkably stupid beasts, or people?
Don't worry, mandatory implants are coming. To control terrorism, you know.

Any type of attachment based filters
You mean like "View->Messages->Has Attachments"?
Auto compacting of folders.
You mean like "Compact folders when it will save over xxx kb"?

Nevermind, I just found Tools->Clear private Data.

I think that was teflon. Imagine a world without it.

Yes, I know what SQL stands for. Maybe it's a localization thing, but I've rarely heard SQL pronounced "SQL" but almost always "SEQUEL"
How do you pronounce PostgreSQL?
Post-gree-seequil?
Post-gre-seequil?
Post-gres-quil?
Not trying to be funny or lame here, I seriously want to know how to say the bloody thing.

MySql didn't think this one out.
