I know nothing about fuel cells, but I remember something about palladium a while back and how they were figuring out a way to use it in place of platinum.
Yes, please bring back the days of large salaries and sitting around doing way less then you should have been doing, while everyone is in meetings arguing about synergy and you're just trying to get your Divx movies to play and Napster working through the corporate firewall, while nurf darts whizz over head and ThinkGeek seems like a really cool place to order expensive softdrinks and desklamps.
An office blimp would have fit in really well, not for the delivery thing but for target practice with the nurf guns.
Eh, well politics is a popularity contest, world politics is worse, the UN reminds me of the middle school lunch table, we all need oil and lots of it unless we'd all like to live in mud huts again, I hate that fact. I'd like to see a guy who runs people through shredders run through one himself. I'd like to see the end of starving people in Iraq and Africa and elsewhere. Sometimes a step backwards is needed to move forward. An end must come to this chaotic dictator, the cost is too high to allow him to brutilize any more people, those casualties that do occur with war will be far less than if he does stay in power.
Steve, I keep that karma thing off in most cases unless it's on topic or I see some type of one sided bashing for no good reason, I used it on something about Bush's haircut, I wouldn't use it if it was about his lack of tact in dealing with other countries which is true and on topic;-)
The rest of the world would still hate us, Republican or Democrat it's all the same. It's kinda hard to roll back 50 years of screwups by both parties just by electing a Democrat, wake up!
I do consulting, my goal is to line my pockets with the most amount of money possible.
I give the customers two options. 1. A windows system with a box delegated for each task and the required MS licenses. 2. A single custom Linux box.
I then explain Linux has no fees associated with it, but it's more expensive to setup. If they go the MS route they will need to pay a few thousand in license costs, it will cost less to initially setup, but more over it's lifetime to maintain, and to reach the same performance levels I will need multiple Windows Machines (don't even talk to me about running exchange with anything else).
My client wins by spending less, and I win by making more.
These are server instances though, I have only ever done a single Linux desktop at a company, and that was for a limited use workstation in a remote part of the country, it can not break unexpectedly.
This is only me, I know the legions of cloned MCSEs outnumber me, so for every Client I flip to Linux they retain many more on the MS side.
Hey, that's the way most musicians I've known live, you see only a very small "commercially viable" group ever make any real money from their hobby.
With a few thousand dollars in equipment you can now have a fairly professional production, make a website, put demo mp3s up and sell some cds to those that would like to support them, musicians can now make money worldwide without the record companies, and they're "living on handouts".
Record companies see the writing on the wall, the industry hasn't been very good at adapting since the player piano was invented.
Linux is the name of the kernel. GNU is the name of a license. Linux is also the BRAND name encompassing all systems using the Linux kernel. RedHat, SuSE, Debian and Slackware are brand names as well, they encompass specific distros.
RMS has a branding issue nothing more, and branding is driven by businesses promoting their wares through the media. Why does business care about what RMS wants, he doesn't matter to them, he's a wacko and businesses don't like associating with wackos, so his message will not be hurd:-)
Disclaimer: It took a wacko to implement what we have today, but a more suave character is now needed to represent GNU so further progress can be made.
My only point is people should be held accountable for their firearms.
As to the man who states he kept his guns in an unlocked cabinet, well I grew up that way as well, and I saw what happened to things when shot, so I learned how to shoot and handle them. MOST people should keep them in a safe as they have no inclination of teaching their children the damage they can inflict and proper handling of them.
Personal responsibility in all areas of society would help more than any law or regulation.
Hmmm, go to the personal insults when you run out of thoughts........too afraid to show your face AC.
That is asinine, if the parents don't want little Jimmy to have an accident with the gun, they should teach little Jimmy how it works, let him shoot it (at a watermelon or something else with a soft inside) and see the distructive potential. Then lock the gun up and out of reach.
Why do we need new laws when the accountability of individuals will do just fine.
You are responsible for your firearm. An accident with that firearm is no one's fault but your own. You should pay with life in prison if a kid is killed due to negligence of improperly securing it (I think it's neglegent homicide or something similar). If it is stolen you should be charged as the theif as you did not properly secure the firearm and one more gun on the street (there is no such penalty as of now). If someone gets shot with your stolen firearm you should be charged as an accessory to the crime(again neglegent homicide or whatever the statute is).
I think it would be fairly simple to make some sort of die to make the casings out of sheet copper, it would take some machine work, but I would think it possible if you had enough intent.
Regular gunpowder is fairly easy to make, smokeless would probably be a problem though.
Primers, eh I don't know what's in them, guncotton??, so they would be a problem.
I think the point being, with some hobbiest equipment it would be possible to make the gun and ammo if you had intent and that is what most criminals have, they will always have weapons.
Because we're not all dirty hippies.:-P
But really, it is a very comprehensive Linux Distro and I don't see why you couldn't make your own iso's, in any case most distros are bigger than a cd and that included dvd is a really quick way to do an install.
I like it, so I buy it, if you didn't need the manuals you could always order the upgrade version for considerably less cash, I usually give the manuals away to a linux newbie anyhow.
Speaking of the centrino, I imagined it in a little foil lined package, a centurion on the label, an anti-virus component, an a nonoxynol -9 process killer.
No, when you fly a plane into the Pentagon, it's WAR.
We cannot declare war against and adversary hideing in the shadows, but it is still a WAR.
It is also a war we very well might lose if people don't wise up and relize the rules have changed, but we didn't change them.
How will you prevent the next disaster?
How will you console the families of the dead and dying?
I don't like the sacrafices that must be made, but things will never be the same.
What can you possible do to prevent such a thing?
They prey upon open societies, we are the first, when we become more resistant to attack they will seek an easier target. We were by far the easiest target on the block on 9-11.
Adapt and survive!
Cool they're using an EEPROM, that presents some interesting possibilities, although lugging a laptop into a department store to give yourself a price markdown might be a little obvious.
I read all the other posts debating gov't money, loans and all.
My post has nothing to do with that since I don't live in England.
Peter Molyneux has always made good games, even on a small budget and hard times. A link for y'all on the man
I think the thing that made all the UK games for the Amiga rock in the day is love of their pursuit, most US games were shoveled to the platform from the PC and showed it. Well that and most PC games sucked.
Even without support, a group of kids with some motivation can still code a game, build a web site and sell them. I'm not afraid they won't make it, it's when they do that we lose their creativity i.e. Psygnosis.
Striking out on your own is never easy and few survive, but those who do are worthy of staying in business and will of their own accord.
So to those kids in the UK with that twisted game design, go ahead code it, make it fun, push current hardware to it's limits and people will buy it. Millions of dollars aren't needed, that's only needed by those who have run away from creativity. (A slasdot article wouldn't hurt, make a linux version or something for a sure fire slashdotting)
Ok, I agree, I'll see you down at the mosque for your conversion.
BTW, the typical American Muslim faith isn't going to cut it, we'd all need to be hardline ultra orthadox muslims. (American Muslims are in some deep shit now with everyone looking at them as if they might be in a sleeper cell)
THAT is the only policy that will work, faith isn't something that can be changed by policy, it is instilled as a core value from childhood.
This strife has been brewing for thousands of years, the only difference between now and then is the technology.
That was well put together and humorous, I don't agree with your assertions however.
That's why Government jobs give points to military vetrans.

Your tax dollars DO pay for George W's $1100 haircuts though. Damn, his cousin must cut hair good.
They paid for Clinton's too, George has yet to extend an airport shutdown while getting one (on AirForce 1).
I do consulting, my goal is to line my pockets with the most amount of money possible.

Run Linux and profit
Maybe they were comparing it to beating a dead horse in the dark.

Too many stupid people own cars and guns.

They had two strikes, I didn't notice after the first.
Speaking of the centrino, I imagined it in a little foil lined package, a centurion on the label, an anti-virus component, an a nonoxynol -9 process killer.
At my local wallyworld[Walmart], a few people got busted for swapping the UPC codes on products, so no need to do the pricechange.
:-)
With a big basket full of stuff and rfid tags it would be easy to sneak that dvd and xbox at the bottom of the cart under all the ramen noodles.

That would fit well in Boca Raton!
They are only obvious now, and I would think maybe Sega or Nintendo might have a patent somewhere on handheld portable computing devices.
Yes, I have wiped many tears on the account of connor and all the data I lost, I must have bought from a bad batch or something.
