  3. Can't say I like the way google has been going lately but Google's business is part helping people find things, part pointing them at particular things, why in hell anyone would think they should be forced to host their competitors in their place of business is a complete mystery.

    Should they give free adds to Amazon ? After all Amazon serves as a shopping service ? What about Ebay ?

    The EU has always been horribly obvious about being bought and paid for by European aristocrats, the ancien regime that never really went away, this is just a further attempt by them to shakedown a deep pocket.

    Well IIRC Bill Clinton signed the Defense of Marriage Act, so many levels of irony there.

    The latest round of the left helping, LGBTQ has made them a protected class with the right to demand people abandon their religious convictions and the right to force their sexuality onto pre pubescent children. Nothing like your 6 year old having story hour with the drag queens. No wonder they react with fear when the political wind changes. The more astute realize they have been used as shock troops by people that really don't give a shit about em.

    Funny I seem to recall the left doing everything they can to outlaw tobacco, tax it out of existence and otherwise interfere in people enjoying the product.

    If you're in California you're paying 58 cents per gallon in taxes.

    No idea how you are going to tax electric cars the same way. Tax electricity even more ?
    Sad thing is I can see that happening, it's a pretty good way no one ever has the means to do a startup in their garage ever again.

    In other terms: the US has accumulated an undue share of global wealth (by a myriad of reasons, prominently featuring luck, malignancy, savagery, brutality and kleptocracy, which would take ages to go over) and therefore looks like the tallest peak where to shelter from the global disaster.     CNN may not be the greatest news outlet but when they quote the FBI as saying they asked and were rebuffed by the DNC, I am tempted to take that as fact.

  14. You obviously have no idea what Azure even is. This has nothing to do with home users who are subscribing to Office 365.

    If you are using Office 2003, you might as well use Wordpad. You aren't doing anything significant like producing professional services documents.

    If I had anyone in my business send me anything other than Office 2007 or higher document formats (docx vs doc) I immediately think they are idiots.

    Are you trying to maximize the amount of stupidity and arrogance you can squeeze into a given number of words ?

    I have to give you bonus points on doc vs docx and I do thank you for contributing to the return of my holdings in MSFT

    Only the uninformed would say that. There's several separate problems to FTL

    1. Traveling at the speed of light for an object with mass requires infinite energy
    2. Traveling faster than light is time travel.

    2. Most people are unwilling accept time travel as a possibility.

    Don't give them a permit to clear cut, fine them if they do. The forest service actually made a profit off of clearing trees up to the 70s no reason it can't again with the increased demand for lumber.

    I just posted a bunch of links showing that yes that is ongoing.
    Hell even as the fires are raging the Santa Barbara fire chief is still getting pushback on creating a firebreak.
    Just by the evidence of the forests burning in massive conflagrations it's hard to see how you can say "Forest management in California is not in bad shape"

    These articles don't say anything about the Forest Service being prevented from doing controlled burns.
