Even though that would be incredibly wasteful, there is a reason they wont do that: Labor time and security.

If a hospital has 1000 keyboards to change every day, that would cost an assload more than just the cost of the keyboards.

Plus, you would have to give the "keyboard exchanger job" full access to all of the hospital. These people would also likely be paid near nothing, so the incentive to steal or even pry goes up.

Bad news broncos. Better solution would be to just implement better cleaning around keyboards (hand sanitizers, etc) to prevent the keyboars from getting uber-dirty in the first place. 1000x cheaper in the long term.

Its interesting to see how you can be so defensive and rude while missing the entire point of my post. I can only assume you are some form of religious study undergraduate (or, gasp, masters) degree candidate. Please forgive those of us with more important things to spend our time on than religious statistics.

Dont worry, I will help you to focus in, since you seems to be more concerned with the exact numbers of southern baptists who tie their shoes with one hand (or some equally as important statistic).

The point was not to debate what christians believe in as a mass group, but rather relating christians to libertarian school of thought. I was curiously discussing whether the core values held by most libertarians line up with typical christian values.

Next time I will try to be more clear for those slashdot readers, who like you, are overly defensive about others posting personal comments and opinions.

As a libertarian who certiainly ISNT jesus loving or bible reading, surely you must admit that the majority of christians dont follow libertarian political thought.

Rather, they believe that having the 10 commandments in court, school prayer, and the death penalty are fine and dandy but that gay marriage, abortion, or real independent freedom just isnt correct. In other words -- they want a government to not provide true personal freedoms, but rather, only the personal freedoms that are in line with their god and sacred texts.

Aside from all of that, its interesting to hear from a christian libertarian who seems half-sane. The only other christian libertarians i have met or spoken with are only "libertarian" so that they can work towards stockpiling weapons for "the reckoning"....

As another poster pointed out, you have several logical fallacies imbeddedin your response, and many irellevant topics. My points in my post was not to debate with you whether God exists or not, but whether God should be involved in political matters.

Why would God (lets assume He/She/Them/It exists and is omnipotent, etc) care about the silly political squabblings of different people? Or alternatively, Why should people care whether other people follow God's rules/beliefs/etc when in public -- wont god judge me/them when I get to heaven/hell/purgutory/enlightenment?

The point was, and still is, if you want to worship god -- fine, do it. I could care less. But dont force me to. And dont make me pay for it (ie putting stuff up using public funds in public places). What you do in your backyard is fine.

I will also say this (I dont really mean it to sound derogatory, only honest) : It scares me that you vote and procreate. Im not saying you shouldnt be able to, but that doesnt mean I like it. I imagine you likely feel the same about me.

Your use of "unfortunately" either implies that you would rather KEEP god in public life or that we havent been doing a very good job. If its the latter, I agree, and please kindly ignore the rest of this post.

If it is the former, however :

The reason we have been trying to "stamp every mention or acknowledgement of God" out of public society is that because (A) - not everyone believes in God, and (B) - God isnt a public matter, its private.

Who/What/When/How/Why you worship some invisible friend(s) is none of my business, and as such, should be none of the governments business, or anyone else in society -- provided you arent sacrificing children or something. The like is true for Who/What/When/How/Why I do or do not worship.

Is DSL not considered high-speed access? I do indeed consider it broadband.

I included two types of broadband in my analysis of 5 vendors for indianapolis metro area. 3 are DSL and 2 are cable.

AFAIK, all DSL providers in the US have some regulation about sharing their lines. My phone lines are run by SBC, but I have speakeasy dsl service at my office, and covad dsl at home, neither of which are SBC run. (Although, I think Speakeasy uses the Covad network in this area, so it might technically be the same, they are different vendors with different prices).

Regardless, DSL is fast enough to be considered High speed, and this alone gives you more than one option. Add in cable co's and soon to be fiber, there are plenty of choices. I would like to see more, but I dont see many people as "trapped".

My DSL operates at 1.5/384 at home and 6.0/768 at work. Is this not highspeed?

    Friend,

After reading the number of posts to your original post, let me share with you something about the mormon religion -- it is certainly one of the most fucked up out there, imo. This is from multiple internet reading sources, and interaction between my old girlfriends (now deceased) family.

For the uninformed -- if you want to learn about mormonism from people who USED to be mormons and have been able to get themselves out of the fucked up circle that they teach -- check out http://www.exmormon.org/

The mormon religion (including all practicing members, because to BE a practicing member you are part of the teaching and administration staff of the church itself) are VERY good at marketing their religion. They are VERY good at telling you how great it is and how wonderful their family operates. But ask anyone who was mormon growing up how fucked up the religion is and they will tell you.

I am saying this as someone who grew up presbyterian and am now athiest. It is nothing even close to similar.

These businesses have less than 50 employees, and rarely have advanced IT systems. To assume that this wont increase their costs is silly.
