i live in switzerland. a friend went with his swiss mobile to yugoslavia (sp?) and has gotten alot of spam SMSs. when he got back, he got back, he was charged around $0.50 per SMS he received in yugoslavia. (some kind of foreign country fee) and i would bet that this is other contries the same case; so yes, we actualy pay for the spam we receive
anyone who has 2 CPUs and more then 4GB RAM has enought brain to enable those two kernel options self, one would think..... beside if you really have such a good system, the performace would suck with the pre-compiled i386 (even if they offer i686) kernel of the distribution...
i rather pay $200 to apple for software then $10 to micro$oft
you can build your own PCs, but you can build your own macs too. so you dont have to pay either of them.
on laptops it looks a bit diffrent. im planing to buy a lappy this summer. ill buy a mac because i refuse to buy a m$ license
