I read an article about some bar that was soaking tobacco leaves in gin and making martinis with it. I like tobacco and I like martinis. But tobacco martinis? I'll try it once... once.
I think the primary reason for Apple's avoidance of hard copy music sales is that their settlement with Apple Records prohibits them from being involved in distributing music on physical media.
I don't see flying cars becoming a reality. General aviation has been in a decline for years because of liability and NIMBY opposition to GA airports. It can cost anywhere from $50-$100/hour to operate a small single engine airplane. That doesn't even include insrance. An air-taxi, as proposed in the article, would have to cost significantly less than that to be effective. Right now the biggest barrier to operating an "air-taxi" service is FAA regulation. The ability to fly an airplane for hire requires a commercial pilots' license which requires 100+ hours of training and there are strict inspection and maintenance requirements for commercially operated aircraft.
Unless there is a major breakthrough in noise reduction technology and the creation of a foolproof air traffic control system, flying cars for urban travel will remain a pipe dream. Until then, support general aviation.
Point taken, but its not a trait that lends itself well to being passed on. In terms of successive generations, it is a hinderance to reproduction so it will eventually be eliminated from the gene pool.
This has nothing to do with the ISP. I have have multiple machines inside the router on a private network. For example, I tell the router to map port 22 to 10.0.0.y on the inside. Then I tell the router to redirect port 23 on the outside to port 22 on 10.0.0.y.
Some guys at SGI did some stuff like this in the 90's and had a page on reality. They melted pennies and other cool stuff. I have been looking for a mirror of that site but it seems to be gone for good.
The restriction against cell phones is an FCC regulation and applies to all aircraft that can fly over a certain speed (maybe 200 kts?). Quickly switching cells during high speed flight causes all sorts of problems on the cell network. The common misconception is that this is an FAA reg. A pilot is under no obligation to follow FCC regs. However, the pilots have to obey the airlines, and the passengers must obey the pilot. So maybe it is a plot to force passengers to use in seat phones. Nevertheless, whenever my cell phone rings in the car, my AM/FM radio buzzes. I'd hate to think what would happen on night ILS approach in a thunderstorm...

In the year 3000, they changed the name to Urectum to avoid all those silly jokes.
...to get excited about space flight again. I haven't been this interested in manned space flight since the first shuttle missions when I was a kid.
A sismilar anomaly in a previous flight was attributed to wind shear at altitude.
>"I reckon thats 8 inches long and 2 inches thick."
You wish.
So much for containing the specimens...
Pick any two.
... after your new job doesn't work out, you can choose the big door labelled 'Applicants' or crawl through the little door lablled 'Supplicants'.

Neither MSN nor iTunes has the Beatles.
You could run all the cables through the hole in the stand, jsut like the power cable.

If that's the case, then that gene will not be passed along to future generations. This of course doesnt take into account IVF, etc.
I'm not going to try it from work though... If it exists, I doubt its work-friendly.

My linksys router allows you to re-map externally visible ports to services running on the internal systems.
Summer of George!

What is the improbability factor of this being a good movie?

I have found that prolonged use of my 12" PB on my lap results in sweaty crotch and legs.
