...then they have me do silly shit (For example...my power supply is bad, it's not charging nor providing power to my laptop, swap the power supply out and all is good...guy in tech support had me take my battery out and hold down the power button...REALLY!?!).
Um... The laptop controls the power supply, and can screw up at times and basically say "Don't turn on" to the power supply, and that status can be 'stuck' at times (Many reasons, capacitance build-up, tiny amounts of power trickling from a battery that isn't enough, battery has a short and is causing the power supply to shut down in response to a power-up request due to overload, many others...) so I don't agree with you thinking that was 'silly shit'.
I think that's a valid question, not like they can expect people on the phone to whip out a pocket multi-tester and probe the ins and outs of the power supply. Taking the battery out and holding down the power will drain any capacitors or other devices that can store current. So it's probably saved a few people from having to pack up their stuff and send it in for warranty coverage.// But ya, talking to outsourced script-readers can be more than frustrating.
But the new roads they are talking about are not replacing the existing infrastructure, but instead will be used to build the 10-lane NAFTA highway from Mexico to Canada.
One night when I was young, and stayed up too late watching Happy Days, I had a strange dream that God told me that I would be blessed with the ability to know that the true end times had come, and my way of knowing would be that when Tom Bosley died, the end game maneuver had arrived.
Then I woke up and thought, "Hmmm, that was pretty stupid."
I just did a google search for it, and came up empty. But Mall Wars was fun, and silly. You were a teenaged kid with a skateboard in a mall, and you'd fight other skateboarders. You'd also try to steal from stores in the mall then get taken out by the mall security if you got caught.
I don't really know why I liked it, but I did. It was one of those games that were a perfect mix of stupid and cool.
I think I still have a copy on one of my backup stashes, I might need to look and see.
It's not 'impossible', it's being done. Lots of hand-slighting, some smoke and some mirrors, a dog and pony show or two to trick the gullible into happy complacency to show that it's possible.
Daughter's 20 now (I got started a bit young), and although she's read a few articles here, she's never signed up.
My boy (almost 7) is still a bit young for posting on the net. But he DOES have his own Ubuntu box, so I'm doing my part to corrupt him into the geek order.:)
That's the way it's been in the past, but this time it's "Americans need companies to loosen their purses", we the people all tapped out this cycle. The sooner the greedy corps realize that they are part of the recovery feedback loop, the quicker we can get out of this de/re cession.
Remember Mulder's famous words: TRUST NO ONE (Especially with your own data)
Dropping engineered virii on the Titanic of all things. When will they give it up and convert to Kdaptism?
What does this have to do with the Iowa Public Television channel?
'triprotic'??
What's that?
Watching porn on acid or something?
That'd be fun. I miss those days! :)
Didn't they steal it from Xerox PARC and then Microsoft stole it from them. Or is that another story?
Isn't upwards-flowing dogma called catda?
He couldn't find a cell phone that old?
Is this Larry Niven's core explosion? We'd better get to work on that scrith, or we'd better try and hitch a ride with Puppeteers...

Well something needs to change pretty damn soon or we're all gonna be living in shacks and drinking muddy water and eating bugs.
Maybe we let them make some changes, knowing that they really have no idea what they are doing, and hope they make the right mistakes.
Evolution in action. Evolution doesn't get to pick its mutations, it just takes the chaos introduced into DNA transmission and makes the best of it.
All I can say at this point is Fuck Lars Ulrich, and fuck everything they've made since the black album.
For many many years, they were my favorite band by far. But now I only purchase Megadeth for my thrash metal fix.
BadAnalogyGuy rocks!
Gorgar on Fark was great too, until they banned him. :(

But now I see that my precognition was correct.
How odd.
In other words, he got Punk'd by some blustering idiots.
Can just tell by your attitude that you are somehow connected with the people who want more government snooping and control.
Go back to your Ministry of Truth and do not presume to attempt mind control on me again.
Gimli died?
Sure you're not confusing him with Trinity?
Never heard of any of those guys. Stallman wins.

Go ahead ya old geezer! :) (Did they even have lawns when you were a kid?)
Weird, the pin for the US is point almost exactly to where I grew up. Almost creepy!
I wonder what they know now that I used to know then, before they erased parts of my memory back in 1989?
As a matter of fact, I did manage to breed! :)
