The best thing about it only costing 50 grand is that it will be easier to send up a replacement when the cheap parts on the first one fsck up. Thanks for assuming the large amount of cash spent on space exploration is wasted, subby. Way to be a team player. When I leave this planet, I'm leaving you behind, kthxbi.
isn't that what blogs and rss are for, so you can see the best of other people's rotations?
So anyway I do slashdot, fark, boingboing, and [H]ardOCP on a daily basis. in google reader I subscribe to computerworld, sans internet security digest, f-secure antivirus blog, and the 'recent knowledgebase articles for windows xp' and 2003 from Mickeysoft. Also in google reader are the kind of sites I started out my post by mentioning: COOP's blog, Lore Sjoberg's blog, the Jalopy Journal, a few motorcycle aggregators like Kneeslider, And about a double dozen comics. I love feed scrapers. You guys have got me feeds for everything I've tried to find one for.
How long is Nethack? I've been playing almost 20 years and I've never ascended. It's never the same game twice.
When your game is the same twice, then you have to worry about how long to make the content, just like some lame-ass movie executive. Make your game more real and it will be as long as the gamer's interest.
you can't "HOLD" it if it NEVER EXISTED. if there was a physical manifestation, then you could hold it, kiss it, love it, buy games for it. Let this be a lesson to all, suing websites is a shoddy way to introduce yourself to your target audience. Whoops, my bad; the target audience was INVESTMENT FIRMS not gamers!
Anyone wanna buy a pet rock?
exactly another reason why simultaneous parallel projects of this nature MUST be carried out. these projects can succeed better, faster, if they HELP one another instead of being viewed as COMPETITORS. why must everything a competition, war, altercation?
Robotech. Honestly, I think the answer is Robotech.
I know! I know! Pick me! Pick me! Robotech! Macross Saga, please.
Definately the Robotech. I cry when Roy dies, don't you?
I have trouble suspending disbelief when watching live-action shows, as they are obviously actors. but I have no trouble believing anime. Am I defective?
Or hey, did you see that show Last Exile on the Anime Unleashed?? Not space combat, but whoever dreamt up that sky-ship combat has to be a genius, that was awesome.
I am disappointed, I thought the movie would be about one of my favorite webcomics, Neil G.'s Robot Stories. Start reading here at page 1.
PS should you get into the story, just remember: Keren is mine -- I saw her first!;-)
> The school being driven by its lawyers and the state instead of its responsibility to society
Yes I would argue further that the lawyers and the state also have a similar responsibility to society, but they would seem to rather suck up to "big business" or play whack-a-mole with drug dealers.
> I would be happy to work with kids in school for a few years. I have a lot to give, practical experience, and enjoy the subject matter. Plenty of other people I know are in a similar position.
Hey, you could try Scouting/Explorers or Big Brother/Big Sister, or mentor/tutoring...
I think those other repliers misread this original comment.
Let me translate.

Erm, you're not using DCL correctly. You wanted to remove older versions of the file? You wanted the "PURGE" command, not DEL.
Like most things computery, it helps to use the correct command.
I had an older article that performed MUCH better!
No seriously, I did not see any listing of what transfer mechanism the home-made disk driver was using on the IDE system. For all I know, his system isn't detecting properly and is using PIO mode for data transfer. To respond to another poster, if it took me 7 minutes to read in the mail, I would be trying to find what the real problem was.

My first choice for skittlation would probably be Boddingtons.
Or Gin.
They may be engineers but they sure don't know much about beer. Oh, wait, they're in college, they must only know cheap beer.
Gee, my favorite band RECORDS their music with that sound.
Wouldn't it be GREAT if everyone was JUST LIKE US and respected US for WHAT WE WERE DOING...

Some wanker always has to pipe up and say he dont get what the deal is, and offer offensive comparisons to the import "tuner" scene. Not that I am offended by the import tuner scene, but if you were to call it "crackering up" my PC I would be personally offended. If you're so sure it will blow over, then please just wait it out and stop making an ass of yourself.
Aren't I allowed to have a hobby? I've learned many interesting things by sanding my computer instead of growing fat in front of it. Did I ever lord it over you, or force you to look? If I was even trying to make you jealous, I'd say it was working. Having an original idea and creating it with my own two hands will always be cool, that *IS* the standard. Doing difficult work -- and doing it well -- with tools and physical labor will always be respected, regardless of what can be ordered online. It can be a display of planning and craftsmanship. It does not always come out well. Unskilled people do try; many get better on their second or fifth efforts. This is my PC. There are many like it, but this red one with the gold scallops, smoked acrylic window, and blue cold-cathode illimination is mine that I planned and created myself and I think it looks pretty damn spiffy.
Your post inspires me to take your plain-black case and beat your head in with it. Get back to your deathmatch, you anonymous cowardly weapons fetishist; you are not amusing.

Plenty of 12 year olds get busted for shoplifting on what I am sure is a daily basis. You all can sympathize more with her because you are not shoplifting CD's on a regular basis.

The findings in Section 2 of the bill could easily apply to other network communications beyond peer-to-peer programs. As reported on the 7th of September 2003, by Saul Hansell, in the New York Times, "Aiming at Pornography to Hit Music Piracy", the RIAA strongly backs this bill, ostensibly for the "protection of children". I strongly believe the truth behind their stance is that this is another attempt by the RIAA to infringe upon the rights of consumers by broad-handedly imposing limits on the use of new technology they feel has the potential to impact their incumbent distribution model. These tactics would also have the effect of limiting the options for independent musicians attempting to distribute their music outside of the control of the RIAA members.
