BULLSH. Most special access programs are solely for the purpose of avoiding oversight. There is NO oversight on the money going into special access programs. Tens of thousand of people have seen the stealth blimp and the only reason to keep it secret at this point is to conceal the monies being spent on the program from public scrutiny. If people have seen it, there is a web page about it, then sure as hell our adversaries know about it. Lets end the top secret bullsh*t.
I followed Doom3's progress with great anticipation. Right from the first showing of the tech at a Steve Jobs keynote I was hooked. I went to E3 in 2002 with Redwood and watched the first big public showing in the "Doom3 theater". It was seriously awesome and the graphics world was rocked by its coolness. The E3 judges couldn't believe the lighting was real time 3d.
Many more screen shots and cool trailers would follow until the game finally shipped.
And then I was pretty underwhelmed. The graphics were cool and the ending animations were quite photo realistic, but I kept asking myself, where in the hell did most of the stuff from the E3 showing disappear to?
There was a lot of story and characters that just changed or got yanked completely. What the heck? The way the player was stalked and killed by the demon knight was so cool in the e3 demo, yet so totally unexciting in the actual game... If they could make a game that captures the essence of what was shown at E3 2002. I would be interested...
How is this any better than Smoothwall? Smoothwall has incredibly easy setup routine and a dynamite interface. Want top notch support? Buy the commercial version.
Its not on its way, its been there for three weeks already. Its sitting under a blue tarp near the Navy exhibit at the far end of the museum. They got pretty torqued when I lifted the tarp up and checked it out....
As long as we have dumbasses on this planet willing to blow things up or write viruses that do a lot of damage, we CANNOT afford to have anti-matter or self replicating nano technology.
Lets make sure EVERYONE on this planet has at least a half a lick of sense before the introduction of technologies that could wipe us all out.
Would you give your five year old a nuclear warhead?
Try and stop using Vonage. They wont let you go no matter what. I Called them five times to "quit" and every single time they say "ok" but they keep billing me and warning me my account is delinquent.
So is this the new business model for the 21st century? "Customers cant quit us, we OWN them"!
Think about it. The Xbox360 is powerful enough to be a serious PC. It has native HD output that is better than most PC monitors. It has DRM to make sure there are no viruses or trojans. Is there anything in the developer contract that says your xbox360 title has to be a game???
Welcome to hell intel.
The source material for these is still 24 frame per second movie reels. HD DVD is capable of 60 Frames per second. There isnt one movie out there that was filmed at 60fps. When they start filming movies at 60 frames per second, that's when we should get exited about HD DVD's. In the meantime- who cares?
It is a bird coming in from the upper left behind the camera. If you look at the point where the line intersects the light pole you can see the birds blurry outline. Since the shot was taken in low light the shutter was open long enough that a fast moving bird would cause a a line like that.
Insurance companies are always looking for ways not to pay for anything. Why dont they just stop operating under the facade of "insuring" us and just rob us at gunpoint instead?
Not neccesarilty. It only checks against the IP of the machine making the connection. So you could have like a hundred domains on one IP address as long as that IP address has a real reverse DNS and an MX record for that DNS entry. What this does is completely kill "slave" spam machines that have been taken over by worms....
Why dont these people start using reverse DNS to MX record verification? It checks to make sure the machine sending you email has a real reverse DNS that matches their MX record. If not, it disconnects. Combine that with the real time black hole list and you'll never see spam again! This mail package does it: Icewarp
Lets save the predictions until AFTER Doom3 for Xbox ships. If the title is anywhere near spectacular, it and Halo2 could blow Xbox sales way past expectations....

Never mind the REAL stuff the government is trying to hide. Lets look at old Roswell bullshit!
For Christ sake, lets declassify stuff like this FIRST and THEN see if people still see UFO's??? OK???? http://www.thestealthblimp.com/

LCOS technology is not used in flat panels. Its only used for rear and front projection HD televisions...

Whats good here is that they are fighting over two very good formats instead of fighting over a good format and one that enslaves the consumer...
