    Maybe it would be better business to INCREASE the cost to send junk mail as it would reduce volume and leave the staff to focus on the REAL mail.

    They mentioned PPC Macs - that's PowerPC-based Macs. In other words, if your Mac is several years old you are starting to be left behind with regards to newer tech

    My PPC laptop is only 3 years old. Intel Macs are still rather new to the user base.

    Another buy-and-die brand was quantum. Fireballs were good drives until they got bought out by IBM, who then almost immediately gave us the DeathStar series.

    And IBM learned from the mistakes of the failures of the 75gxp and had very solid drives after that. I've got Deskstar 120gxp drives still running today.

    I don't see how a slight change in hardware will change AT&T's rates which is what hurts long term more than the cost of the phone itself.

    Yup. If Apple wants to grow their market, they need to put pressure on ATT to lower their rates.

    I wonder how friendly T-Mobile is to unlocked phones. I really have a hard time abandoning my Sony Ericssons...

    I'm using unlocked P910 and P990's on T-Mobile. Just pop in the SIM and go.

    Anybody who feels the need to drive an oversized military-style vehicle half a mile down (sub)urban roads to buy a pint of milk or a new pair of socks is looked on with a degree of suspicion and pity. People are a bit wary that the driver isn't too concerned about the well being of other road users and pedestrians.

    H2 isn't a military vehicle.

    Exactly... Mac users have basically been trained to think that it's normal for you to have to replace all of your software when you upgrade to the newest version of the OS.

    Huh? I've still got some Mac OS 9 apps running in the latest version of Mac OS X.

    Ford decided that they didn't need a bailout.

    That leaves only the lame "Big 2" now.

    It's not just the unions. The Japanese plants can change over a factory for different vehicles very quickly. They don't waste resources making plants for single/few vehicle types.

    Simple scientific procedure :

    1) There's no scientific theory that would explain that our "spirit" still live after our death. At the opposite, we can easily conceive that our "spirit" (or soul or personnality or whatever you called it) use our brain as an hardware support and that destroying the hardware also destroy the spirtir/soul/...

    Unless there is a backup/download to new hardware we don't know about.
