Well, I bought a mod chip, but I realized that its way to hard to solder on to the board, since the points are sooooo small, literally the size of the period at the end of this sentence.
You're right about it requiring a *nix system to run the software.
But on another note, maybe I'm just dumb, but I don't even understand how to use this thing... He tells how to use his software, but how do you exactly use the resulting files?
I played UO back in the day (around 2000) and I managed to sell my account for about $500 (US dollars).
Personally, I can't understand how someone can actually quit their job to sell game items. To me, it's just not enough money for the work that must be done. What if the game goes under? Here's a whatever year old man with no job. Good luck getting a job, considering the market. What's he gunna do, move on to another game?
I understand your point, but why bow down to them? As I see it (and I'm sure many others do,) the only action to take is to change that perspective. Education is stronger then ignoring the issue.
Maybe because there is such a thing as bad hackers?
Not all hackers are good guys, and distinguishing between good and bad ones by calling them crackers isn't helping. There are white hat, grey hat and black hat hackers. They all do the same thing.
Someone who cracks a password is a cracker.
Calling them crackers instead of bad or evil hackers that are on the dark side is not very proper... Hmm, not a Star Wars fan at all, but correct me if I'm wrong, there are good and bad Jedi's Some just go to the dark side and some go to the light. Same with hackers.
I understand your point of view, but many parents - especially those who don't purchase much online - don't trust the internet for secure commerce. I know that this involves amazon.com, but even if "little Petey" is entering a free contest on amazon, his parents might be ok with that, but not with giving their credit card info. Perhaps they don't shop online.
Actually - I've seen indie records at Circuit City. They carried quite a few O.A.R. albums, two of which I bought. So I'm not so sure that C.C. is as RIAA friendly as you seem to think.
Well, first off, correct me if I'm wrong, but the RIAA isn't a monopoly - simply because they aren't a company. They are a whole bunch of companies all joined together for the "common cause".
Second - the statement that $10 cd's would sell better then $18 cd's isnt true, unless the quality of music (or sex appeal) of the $10 is the same or better then the $18
Also, a note on prices: I used to work for Circuit City and they had some reasonably priced CD's - in comparison to chains that specialize in music. Sam Goody and similar stores are usually about 5-6 dollars more then CC was. CC usually had new releases for $11.99 when the same CD sold at SG for $16-18.
This hurts me to see/. posting this type of crap. After hearing this stupid story a few weeks ago, I've decided to completely disregard Yahoo! as a news source of any kind. That type of crap shouldn't be posted on a trusted news service, such as Yahoo! They didn't really post anything that says that the story is just that, a story. They barely said the WWN was following it.
Another note: Many people have no idea what the WWN is; and given its name alone, it sounds like a somewhat trustable source. Bad bad bad Yahoo! and bad Taco!
Close to what I meant, but not exactly.
You can't chmod/chown/etc files in that path UNLESS they are owned by the user that the apache process is running as.
Does anyone know if this version will have better support for suexec-style permissions handling without using php as a perl module script thing?
If I'm unclear, what I mean is will php commands like chown and chmod actually be functional on files not owned by the user apache runs as, based on the user who owns the site/scripts?
My roommate has had one of these for the longest time and let me tell you, it looks pretty lame. There's really no need for this light behind keys, especially since it's on all the time and doesn't go through the keys. That's what's great about the PowerBook. It senses low light and actually illuminates the symbol on the key, not just the space between. Now that, my friends, is hot.
I'm a male IT major and I've seen about 20 or so freshmen girls that are in IT. I've also heard that there are only 3 or so freshman female Comp Sci majors.
Unfortunately, I don't know how many students there are total in the majors, but you could probably look it up if you cared enough (www.rit.edu)
Think of how fast you could download porn...
My harddrive would fill faster then it does now.
Touche! Thanks for expanding my knowledge
Sorry for being OT - just wanted to correct some slight English error. Just trying to help someone with their English, since I see zcat is from NZ.

In English, we say built in.

I have a thing for the PC that lets me read/write my PS1 memory cards... Does that mean I can do this?
It was made by the same people that made gameshark

Ever seen the virtual *sex act* videos where they try to make it like you're the recipient?
This technology brings virtual sex to a new level....

The best prank I'd say was the broadcast of The War of the Worlds. Even though it was unintentional, the widespread hysteria it made was just amazing.

Here's a limerick for you
Once was a man named Eugene
Who made a jack-off machine
The twentythird stroke,
The fuckin thing broke,
And beat his balls to a cream.
