Because when you're on the road, trying to find your way to a client and keep on schedule, nothing's more important than bluetooth support
ever try a map? or setting your alarm clock a little sooner? How about the people who would rather have bluetooth then gps becuase they work in there city?
how much material does it actually take to produce a pda? I dought more then 10 bucks. So 577 bucks for the design and manufactoring per pda doesn't that seem like alot?
"Garfinkel has learned his lesson. As an undergrad at MIT in the 1980s, he failed to sanitize his own hard drive before returning a computer to his father. His father was able to read his personal journal."
yeah right.. who the hell keeps a journal on there computer?
For its part, Alien Technology says its RFID tags can be read up to 15 feet away. "When we talk about the range of these tags being 3 to 5 meters, that's a range in free space," said Tom Pounds, a company vice president. "That's optimally oriented in front of a reader in free space. In fact if you put a tag up against your body or on a metal Rolex watch in free space, the read range drops to zero."
only works for 15 feet away? Whats the problem here? Also if you just cover this thing up it covers the tag completely? whats the point, if you want to steal something, cover up the tag and walk out.
The idea is cool, but is there any need for a product like this? Isn't the current system working just fine?
Butters: You get a call, they cut you off. You make a call, they cut you off. What's the point? Leo: You know what they're doin', kid? They fuck you with cell phones! That's what it is! They're fucking you with the cell phones! They love it when you get cut off! You know why, huh? You know why? Cuz when you call back - which they know you're gonna do - they charge you for that fucking first minute again at that high rate!
"Afghanistan! I don't know nobody in Afghanistan! I don't know what fucking Afghanistan looks like, and even if I did, I would not talk to their Afghan-ass for three hours! I won't talk to my daddy for three hours!"
I guess this gives new meaning to "they fuck you with the cell phones"
now I can understand the people who buy old 386's and 486's for 20 bucks each and salvage them for use, but 286's?
80286's were the first x86 attempt at a fully 32 bit machine, and it didn't come all of the way. 386's and 486's might be slow, but atleast they can run the core functions of more modern chips.
"Contrary to the model of dontlink.com, the German site refrains from linking to companies that prohibit linking without their consent. The site only states the URL of the websites with the linking policies"
isn't this still linking? instead of a hyper link, the user has to cut and paste address. The result being going from there site a to site b. In my mind thats still a link.
Are these people having issues with "linking" or "hyperlinking". Becuase if there having issues with "linking". Then they should not be listed in any search engine, or any website, or if you push argument even father, it also shouldn't be listed on paper.
I hope the people who have issues with "linking", if there are any, have really simple domain names. Becuase the only way I can think of to access the site would be to type in random names and see what popes up.
Further more, what the heck are they whining about? Who actually complains about haveing to much traffic? If your making a website for yourself, use htaccess or something. If your making a website for the public, then expect traffic.
As for the people who want to avoid things like slashdoting, suck it up. If you cant cant handle the heat, get out of the water. The solution to the problem is diffenetly not get rid of linking. If you want to limit traffic that badly, just use a friggin firewall.
some guy at a university: hey I came up with a dumbass idea for fighting spam that will never work co-worker: ? some guy at a university: hmm... if I bet my job over it, that would make good headlines. It would for sure get posted on slashdot co-worker: whatever
insert here a law that you just came up with about
-slashdot double posting
-microsoft(its slashdot, what else)
-people posting about YADOML every 18 months
that should take care of about half the posts on this story
a monopoly is when a company is so big that it can sell its products at lower prices becuase it has tons of money, and undercut its competitors.
--or-- In the case microsoft, a monopoly also creates products that are only compatable with its own products, and specifacally creates products witch prevent competitors products from being installed. But thats a whole different argument.
Google is a free service. So are all search engines. Google makes its money by being a better search engine, getting lots of people to use it. Then it can go and do things like the occasional add, or banner, or the little paid advertaisment related to your search.
Lets say google was infinitely huge, that everyone used it, and that it was by far better then any of its competition. It still doesn't have a monoply. Nothing is preventing competition.
On the other hand, if windows came installed with the google bar, and didn't allow a simalar product to be installed for any other search engine. Then that might be a different story.
Wouldn't the person who is just surfing pages use a very small amount of bandwidth? Lets say we have one or two people downloading stuff on kazaa, listening to internet radio like shoutcast, or downloading the lastest kernel.
Each one of these activities are prolonged downloads, and even infinite in the case of internet radio. How many web surfers does it take to use the same bandwidth as the one or two people mentioned above? Hundreds? Thousands?
Thats one of the inherit difficulties with the internet, its completey unpredictable.
Do you understand that a couple hundred years ago we were all from other nations? That america is a nation of immagrants?
Immagrants made are cities great(new york, pennsylvania, etc), immagrants helped build are nation(look at the railroads)
If people like you ran the goverment of america a couple hundred years ago, america would not be such a great country that it is today. I think you need to look at the constitution a little closer, do you understand what discrimation is?
And how do American students "deserve it", I respect people who worked hard and came to america to get a good education, alot more then people who had everything givin to them, and somehow thing that becuase you say the pledge of alliagence every day, that they are better then foriegn people.
If you feel so strongly about this, then why post as a anon? Perhaps you know how stupid and discrimatory you sound.

considering the major features its lacking, I would never pay a whooping 589 bucks for this thing.
