"That's optimally oriented in front of a reader in free space. In fact if you put a tag up against your body or on a metal Rolex watch in free space, the read range drops to zero."

only works for 15 feet away? Whats the problem here? Also if you just cover this thing up it covers the tag completely? whats the point, if you want to steal something, cover up the tag and walk out.

isn't this still linking? instead of a hyper link, the user has to cut and paste address. The result being going from there site a to site b. In my mind thats still a link. Are these people having issues with "linking" or "hyperlinking". Becuase if there having issues with "linking". Then they should not be listed in any search engine, or any website, or if you push argument even father, it also shouldn't be listed on paper. I hope the people who have issues with "linking", if there are any, have really simple domain names. Becuase the only way I can think of to access the site would be to type in random names and see what popes up. Further more, what the heck are they whining about? Who actually complains about haveing to much traffic? If your making a website for yourself, use htaccess or something. If your making a website for the public, then expect traffic. As for the people who want to avoid things like slashdoting, suck it up. If you cant cant handle the heat, get out of the water. The solution to the problem is diffenetly not get rid of linking. If you want to limit traffic that badly, just use a friggin firewall.

a monopoly is when a company is so big that it can sell its products at lower prices becuase it has tons of money, and undercut its competitors.
    --or--
In the case microsoft, a monopoly also creates products that are only compatable with its own products, and specifacally creates products witch prevent competitors products from being installed. But thats a whole different argument.

Google is a free service. So are all search engines. Google makes its money by being a better search engine, getting lots of people to use it. Then it can go and do things like the occasional add, or banner, or the little paid advertaisment related to your search.

Lets say google was infinitely huge, that everyone used it, and that it was by far better then any of its competition. It still doesn't have a monoply. Nothing is preventing competition.

On the other hand, if windows came installed with the google bar, and didn't allow a simalar product to be installed for any other search engine. Then that might be a different story.
