I wasn't the original poster, so you may have been right about what they meant. When I personally dump on socialized health care, I refer to my experiences and those of people I know with active duty health care (tricare). So you may have been correct in what the OP meant, but I saw it differently.
But the VA Health Care is different from the health care you receive on active duty... Which is sub-par from my experience. I know I had one tooth pulled and 2 extra root canals done by army dentists which would not have been needed if I had competent dental care. I know of people who have had an assortment of issues with army doctors misdiagnosing or refusing to diagnose people because they felt the patient was making it up in order to get out of physical training. I know of a specific person who had a fractured hip, but was told that she was faking it, and she was refused x-rays, since the military doctor thought she just didn't want to have to run. So she had to run with her fractured hip for over a month before she could see another doctor who was willing to take her seriously.
All I'm saying is that in my experience, the "free" military health care is definitely an instance of "you get what you pay for".
After reading this (horrible) list, I think Madden belongs on there ahead of some of these items. There are enough people arguing about top 5 or so that I won't get involved in that one, but Madden should be in the top 30.
I wash I had some mod points for you. Actually messing with electronics is a great way of learning. It's not like the world would end if you fry a hard drive or a psu. Just don't use this setup for a critical system unless you have tried it elsewhere and know that it's stable.
But experimentation is fun and educational!
When my wife got an Touch several months back, the first thing I wanted to do was build some applications for it. Who wouldn't want to play with a device that has accelerometers, position sensors and multi-touch gestures?
When I read about the accelerometers, position sensors and multi-touch gestures, of course I thought you were referring to your wife...
This is true, but on the live TV broadcast there's a little more room allowed for error as well. I've seen the yellow line partly on top of players many times, and it never bothered me. If I paid $10 to see a movie, and the special effects went over the actors, I wouldn't be too happy about it.
MD5 Benchmark took 1.188 seconds for 3000 hashes (2525 hashes/second)
MD4 Benchmark took 0.839 seconds for 2700 hashes (3218 hashes/second)
SHA1 Benchmark took 1.201 seconds for 1900 hashes (1582 hashes/second)
I also tested SRware Iron (A variant of Chrome) on the site, and scored significantly higher:
MD5 Benchmark took 0.343 seconds for 3000 hashes (8746 hashes/second)
MD4 Benchmark took 0.232 seconds for 2700 hashes (11638 hashes/second)
SHA1 Benchmark took 0.299 seconds for 1900 hashes (6355 hashes/second)
I also would mention that I'm pretty sure Opera was the first to block unrequested popups (I'm not positive, but it was the first I saw doing that), and first with mouse gestures.
On a side note, has anyone used Opera mobile much, and how has it been?
Seriously? In case you weren't baiting for a flame war.. GP never said that Firefox doesn't have these things, he said that they are implemented better in Opera. Also, Opera is where mouse gestures started, and even though I use a FF plugin to have them at work, I still think that Opera implemented them better as well. If you haven't ever tried Opera, you really should! At least give it an unbiased look.

Once children realize how easy it is to create music, they'll have a huge bonfire lit within them.
What do you think?
I, for one, am against lighting bonfires in children.
Think of the children!!!11!1011!!

Unless you flip the switch that moves him from suck to blow.
I think it's for Gnome..
Well, as far as emailing pictures, as long as they are small.. how about encoding them in ASCII art? I believe this was recently posted on /.
You know that the DoD certs used by the army aren't trusted by firefox, right?

If you don't mind, what college did you go to? My younger sister is a senior in high school and is blind, she might appreciate the info.
Citation.
Obligatory xkcd about computing using rocks and sand..
And it locked up my VM in no time. =) Good fun.
That's what she said.
I just now tested it on that site:
MD5 Benchmark took 1.188 seconds for 3000 hashes (2525 hashes/second)

It doesn't specify the resolution, but I found complete specs here
For the screen it says:
Display
- 2.8 inch QVGA, TFT, 260,000 colors, landscape
A quick scan of Wikipedia tells me that QVGA is indeed 320x240.

Looks like the found his plane today!
But were there Americans involved in these discussions, or just a bunch of Europeans talking about what Americans think?
that's true. My comment was a joke however, about being rounded up to 50%.. heh.
"I have not had any complaints. We do parent surveys every year," Ms. Clautti said.
"50% of parents are in favor of the new grading scheme" she added.
I love how everyone commenting on this has different statistics, without any references. Just goes to show that 63% of statistics are made up.
