  1. For me it deprecated itself. on Features That Windows 10 Will Deprecate · · Score: 2

Came to work on Tuesday to find out some bs nag screen asking me to reserve windows 10 for myself. Ok click on the menu and see no don't bother me again option. Right click on the icon, hmm nothing, Its fucking not removable WTF?

So instead of upgrading my only windows box (My pos is windows only) I'm on a hunt for a POS system that runs on Linux. In my shop it 2015 will be the YEAR OF LINUX.

to buy the biggest chunk of land I could, Put up trees/super tall hedges all around, build a nice funky house in the middle and get the biggest cable/adsl/etc connection I could from any local small ISP. Then I pup up a huge pirate or penguin flag in the center so it would just stand above the trees so people would go WTF?

Then I would build a green house for hydroponics and grow my own food and weed.

the best site I discovered is http://www.ektoplazm.com/ Obviously Trance/Goa/Spy/Etc is not everyone’s cup of tea but there are tons of net labels out there that license their music CC.

I discovered http://www.embarrassed.nl/ on Ektoplazm and their Tales of the Coin Spinner would rival any commercial electronic music release especially in the mide/late 90's style.

  7. Why would anyone bother listening to radio music on Ask Slashdot: Will Technology Disrupt the Song? · · Score: 1

these days when there is more free and independent music on the internet. When I found http://www.ektoplazm.com/ I was lost in there for week discovering tons of free EM. Yes not everyone cup of tea but its like shopping for cd to discover new artists except you get to hear the music first and not waste your money.

  8. No more fancy navigation/in dash for me on Hyundai Now Offers an Android Car, Even For Current Owners · · Score: 3, Informative

We bought a 2015 Dodge Journey Blackout Edition. Now I like the 280+HP but the in dash/navigation is shit. Navigation went out 6 months into owning the car. Went to the dealer three times for "firmware updates" which they say must be downloaded on a car to car basis as they are serial number specific  The downloads/upgrades failed three times and were told had to wait for new update so come back next time. On the third time they got a fuck you when we come back you're installing a new unit.

The unit was installed but now the volume on the unit only goes to 38 previously it went up much higher (although the audio only sounded good up to 36-38max) and the 38 level is now closer to 34-36 on the broken unit.

There's still a bug in the dash unit. If you are using usb as the source, when you stop the car while audio is playing, turn the car off and open the rear hatch the unit resets the play location to the first file on the usb drive. There are a couple of combos of this LOL.

I'm going to take it that you don't actually use a workstation much less a recent computer.

This was typed on one of those computers.

Let's start with OOD which I assume you mean optical drive. When was the last time you used one? Most people haven't used one in years. So removing it is like when computer manufacturers removed the floppy drive. Apple was one the first; others took years to do so even when it was apparent no one used them anymore.

Majority of people I know still use CD'r for their in car music. Sure everyone has a phone but most don't won't more wires all over the place charging the phone while the music is playing through their phone. There are no more good mp3' players out there and not everyone buys a new car every year just to keep up with the latest media devices.

Only reason people might not use a technology is because the manufacturer has removed it trying to force the next new upgrade.
