I'm beginning to think that Microsoft isn't allowing the new GUI to be disabled in order to purposely have a bad Windows version.
Then, Windows 9 will come out in a year or two and suddenly have the option of booting to the old Start menu, thus perpetuating the "every other version of Windows is good" trend.
And they'll have tv commercial with peoples stating "It was my idea" and they'll call it a new improved feature.
there are lots of way to dress up vegetables to make even meat eaters drool all over. Just look outside of the western culture for some recipes. Unfortunately for some its too much work/time to cook up some Curry or Thai so they'll just stick to SPAM.
Yup I love my Jaguar which I`ve owned since 1995. Love my Iron Soldier, Cannon Fodder, AVP, Tempest. I also play NES, Super NES, Saturn, Dream Cast, 3DO, PS1, N64, Game Cube and Wii. The only one I don`t play are the new systems Xbox and PS++ which the kids play.
Oh and GET THIS i prefer cartoony games like Rayman, Mario 64, Mario Kart over life like FPS. Yah....
Nothing wrong with Mint and I`ve been using it for 5 years. I should have said Windows computer gaming in my house doesnt happen because I don`t run Windows. Gimme a large selection of games that will play with out Wine and I`ll buy the kids some Linux compatible computer games.
There's no computer gaming in my house because all three computers run Linux Mint. So the kids play consoles from NES, Jaguar to Xbox. Good enough for my family.
So can I get a patent on divorcing/separating a laptop screen and a keyboard into a fantastic happy little accident which gives the user true dual purpose experience? Maybe I'll call it the Asus Transformer?
I got money burning in my pocket for a laptop/motherboard with out secure boot. I this means my i7 system is the last system I buy so be it. I don't play games so I'm ok with old hardware for getting online. Hell I still use PS 7.
whats to stop manufacturers from not including secure boot in their hardware. No way there isn't a big market for some Chinese manufacturer to jump onto this and have the Linux world use their hardware.
Roll up under some high power lines and charge away. My friends dad use to capture electricity with some gizmo on his farm from the high power lines that the BC hydro had running through the property.
The developers are getting sick of the "users" ripping off their software, pirating it with ease, and not thinking twice about if their software is legal or not.
I'd like to see how popular Photoshop would be if you couldn't pirate it? Well it wouldn't...
to allow in app purchases FTFA "Of course Microsoft wants a piece of that pie, which is why the company is spotlighting its support for in-app purchases and attempting to make it easy for developers to embrace the functionality. "
So is that mean I can create a free app which I then redirect users to a %20 discount on my software and make 10% more than what MS would give me?
would you want to hurt that little Linux distro? Have you no shame?

Now tell me how we could have simulated this and tested it in a computer model, PETA guys.
I'm not PETA but why wouldn't we be using humans for these experiment? Ohh to grotesque? Too inhumane?

Is that friking lazer glues to a mini shark in a little fish bowl on the rover?
suck had to watch CNN to get the landing. How sad no other station on regular cable carried the landing.

First of all, the Linux userbase is really small to begin with. Within that small userbase, you have two relatively large groups:
1. The ideologues, who really believe in RMS's idea that proprietary software is unethical.
2. The cheapskates, who aren't going to pay for software.
Who's left to sell to?

its good to fork once in a while to keep the projects momentum going and bring in new blood?

However, blocking the threat is as simple as an ACL on your router...
to the average Apple user. So simple to do...
