I have worked for both the health insurance industry and now the property casualty side. Both use what is called "Predictive Modeling". The company I work for now uses 91 different "points" to assign you a "model rate code". One of those "points" is your Equifax credit score! Any time a policy is rated "numbers" are sent into the Predictive Modeling system it takes those "numbers" and gathers other information including your Equifax credit score (we store them in our databases and if we don't have it we call a "secure" web service at Equifax to get it, once we have it - we store it. The "Model Rate Code" that is produced is a single digit number it can be from a negative number, a zero or a positive number. That number is then multiplied by the "rate" initially generated and then you are told how much your premium will be. The 91 different "Points" we rate on are HIGHLY guarded the ONLY people allowed to know what those "points" are, are the Actuaries, and there are only TWO of them that are allowed to know them. So just to make you feel even BETTER - many companies can do the same thing with your Credit score information - pay Equifax to use their "secure" web service and get your information and then store it on THEIR systems. So while your worried about Equifax - think about how many other companies have your information and may be even LESS secure than Equifax!!!

I have visited many countries in this world and all the regular people in those countries are good people I never met anyone I didn't get along with (well except for the French in Paris - they hated American for some reason) - I LOVED the French outside of Paris - wonderful people! especially in northern France! I even partied with Russian Romanians on New Years Eve - what a fun bunch of people!!!!!! And the Russian vodka they brought was far better than ANYTHING we get in the US! One of these days I want to visit Russia itself. Europe was a fun place - people are really nice and friendly. I really enjoyed my time in South Korea - great people and OMG the food is SOOOO good there! If you have NEVER been to South Korea and eaten in their restaurants you are missing out! "Subway Surfing" in Seoul Korea is fun if you haven't tied it - you need to!
If you really want to know about another race - INTERACT with them! You wold be surprised how many people of other races are nice people. You can learn allot from them and they from you. And I would say the BEST way to interact with them is over food! Have lunch or dinner with them - eat THEIR kind of food. What do you have to lose? Sure you may find some kinds of food you don't like or can't because of allergies. I will admit, I had a hard time with Afghan food. But enjoyed the conversation over lunch.
I have been using antennas to get over the air FREE tv for over 12+ years. I NEVER paid for Cable. I get over 14 channels free over the air. In larger cities in my motorhome I can get 20+ channels. All for free! And since they are all digital - the quality is pretty darn good!
Today at least electric cars have about 1/3 the driving distance as gasoline fueled cars. I'd love to see an electric car go 400-600 miles on a single charge. Batteries aren't there yet. Now Hydrogen is where you want to be. ULine is converting ALL their battery operated forklifts to use Hydrogen fuel cells. It's cool. I saw this working on a project in one of their 1 million sq ft warehouse (1/2 mile long). The fuel cells are drop in replacements for the batteries and the hydrogen refueling station is the size of a small refrigerator. It replaces 150+ battery chargers. The electricity savings is HUGE! considering the forklifts fun almost 24/7. I think Hydrogen is the way to go - stop trying to invent longer charged batteries. Get hydrogen cars more in production, make them safe and get refueling stations at every gas station. That way they would just replace gas pumps.

SS is a Pyramid scheme plain and simple. It REQUIRES future generations to work enough to pay for those who worked, retired and now expect their SS payments. LibreOffice great but it is STILL missing a good Visio replacement. At work I use Visio HEAVILY. There is really no good open source replacement for Visio. I've tried all of them (I think).
Directory Opus has had tabbed file explorer capabilities for YEARS! I wouldn't use Windows Explorer if it had tabs. It's still a POS compared to Directory Opus. What we need is what Linux has - tabbed shell's.

My company HEAVILY uses SAS. They use it for the predictive model. They just recent upgraded to SAS Visual Analytics. That requires Python and runs (no shit) 39 web applications on one Tomcat instance. It literally takes the server 45 minutes to boot up! It's ridiculous. It's purely a Java system that uses Flash for gods sake! It's cost is UNGODLY! for two servers (test and production) each with 24 cores was $100K+++++.

My company has been bringing in lots of H1-B contractors and within 3 weeks send them home without paying for them. We have had so many totally unqualified people we now put in our contracts that if the individual can't be productive in 3 weeks we can send them back without paying for them! In the last 3 years we have ramped up out college recruiting and bringing in paid interns from colleges within the state. We end up hiring many of the interns. In the last 3 years we have hired 23 recent college grads and getting better quality out of them. There are PLENTY of qualified American IT workers! Get them right out of college and put a little time into them with training them.
I put a homemade Faraday Cage around mine. As long as it doesn't TOUCH their meter Public Service can't do anything about it. Public Service tried to make me take mine off. I told them they can't make me, it's not touching their meter. I just gave them my middle finger. They haven't said anything to me in 6 years now since I put it on. I put it on the day after they installed the thing.

Soldering wires to jumpers to switch to NTSC and PAL video mode. Multi-boot rom boards. Burning the whole Amiga 2.1 OS into EPROM and having and Amiga 2000 boot instantly! And good old PowerPacker! Compress ANYTHING and save room on the hard drive and leave it runable. Gone are the days of a fully pre-emptive multiatasking OS with a GUI that fit on 4 880K floppy disks! And be able to run more on a 7/14/20 MHZ CPU in 1 meg of ram than a 386/486/pentium of the day....
Well if they go to the ribbon style interface - I won't be upgrading.... Now if they are SMART - they will give the user the OPTION to use the ribbon interface or NOT use it.
