I don't think anyone's actually suggesting that MS sell this.

What it's about is that MS has continually claimed that IE (and WMP, now) are inextricably part of the OS, and that there's no way to remove them, hence the lack of illegal tying under the old consent decree.

This guy is here to rebut that contention.

There has grown up in the minds of certain groups in this country the notion that because a man or a corporation has made a profit out of the public for a number of years , the government and the courts are charged with the duty of guaranteeing such profit in the future, even in the face of changing circumstances and contrary public interest. This strange doctrine is not supported by statute nor common law. Neither individuals nor corporations have any right to come into court and ask that the clock of history be stopped ,or turned back, for their private benefit.

About 3 months later, the drive drops dead again. I call up tech support this time, because I want to talk to a human. The guy says the diagnostic code says "replace drive". I mention that it's already been replaced once. He asks if I want a new build instead of a refurb. I say hell yeah. Same deal. No muss, no fuss. So far, so good on the new drive.

The Ninth Amendment has to be the most underrated and most ignored by Congress (though the 10th comes close) Amendment that there is.

Ninth Amendment: "We listed some rights explicitly. Even if we forgot to talk about the others, you've still got them."
