  2. Re:Yet again, they further homogonize the game on Faction Changes Coming To World of Warcraft · · Score: 1

The point should be obvious. People have friends who play with different factions. If two people find they both play WoW, but are on opposite factions, they would have to level another character from scratch. If they are on the same server, one would actually have to buy a whole new account. Now Blizzard will allow people to switch so they can play together. It is actually a good thing as it allows people a way to play together.

This has nothing to do with lore. There is no in game mechanism to switch factions. This is the same as a character realm transfer.

And as far as giving both side the same classes...that actually made a lot of sense because having unique classes made raiding easier for one faction over the other. They could have given both classes similar abilities but then what's the point? Now that both factions can have all the classes, it simplifies end game raiding because then you just balance it to the same classes rather having to take in to account differences between factions for each boss fight.

Meh, your argument is tired and not well thought out. Obviously a lot of people are having fun playing the game. Any subscription MMO you play is going to have some form of grind, if it didn't, it wouldn't be an MMO. Some of those grinds are less enjoyable than others so people would rather buy their way past it. Others want to be better than their friends so they buy gold to impress others with whatever in the game. There really isn't anything broken in the game, if gold was unlimited, then there would be no economy (which many people find fun to play). And the truth is, you really don't need more gold (at least in WoW) for anything but vanity items. You can afford most things just by playing normally.

People play for 3 years and then get tired of it. They had fun at first, but then it gets too boring or time consuming. Nothing is wrong with that...anything gets boring and repetitive after years of doing it. It isn't a flaw in the game, it is just human nature. A game that is so good that you never quit...well, that just doesn't exist. So if Blizzard is doing it wrong, what the hell is doing it right? And do we really want that?

Oh screw you. Republicans have clearly demonstrated their policies to favor the rich and concentrate wealth. By definition concentrating wealth at the top means there is less for the middle class and the poor thus creating more poor people. The biggest trick the Republican pundits continually plays and gets away with is convincing stupid poor people that they have their best interests in mind. Sadly, intelligent people are infected by the bull shit as well.

Democrats have failed in so many ways as well, but to say that the Democrats want more poor is stupid. Historically, under Democratic leadership the country's GDP is better an run less of a deficit. Economies work better when wealth isn't concentrated because there is more people to by useless crap. But "facts" are something most people don't care about. You guys want to see Obama fail because you hate Democrats. If he succeeds, you won't change your view point to see hey, maybe the Republicans don't really have all the answers. Of course, after 8 years of an awful one, you still can't admit you were wrong.

No, you are wrong. Where I worked, no one lost their jobs. I work where people make decent money and can easily support a family. But since gas was so expensive, they chose to ride the bus or bike to work instead. They could still afford to drive if they wanted to, but they found the price to be not worth it. If they drove a more fuel efficient vehicle, it would have had less of an impact.

Getting the U.S. off oil isn't just a environment thing. It is a national security thing. We are far to dependent on people who hate us. Speculation causes oil to fluctuate, but no matter what, it is going to run out eventually and prices will continue to rise. The sooner we can get out of that, the better.

You can legislate to make a difference...why do you think cars have seat belts? So you can legislate these things and you don't need culture shifts. Same thing with cigarettes. If it wasn't for legislation, PSAs, taxes, etc, we probably would all still be smoking at work.

You can not enslave planets. Empty planets that are just floating around have no problem if we land on them for colonization or to get resources. We have to protect our planet because it is the only one we have right now and trashing it effects our health and the the health of future generations. Mining some uninhabited world doesn't matter. As living beings we have the abilities and the need to manipulate our environments. Yet you seem to view us as unnatural. We are as natural as the planets and anything else in nature. We are just special in that we are able to understand the impact of many of our actions. So "saving the planet" is selfish in a sense because we are just trying to allow humanity to survive longer and in large numbers on this planet.

You might view humanity as the scourge of the universe...but as far as we know, we are its most intelligent creation. That makes us wonderful. And since we have been granted the ability to think about our actions, we should do what we can to preserve humanity to the best of our abilities. Just like any animal in nature...we want food, shelter, and to reproduce. Unlike other animals, we can "do it" on other planets as well.
