Some are well maintained, and even automatically maintained. spamhaus and spamcop come to mind. One of the less desirable ones that comes to mind is SORBS, where if they list you in one category you've got to donate $50 to charity, per message, to be delisted. You're an ISP providing smtp to your customers, and you're listed again? Tough.
And microsoft misses yet another chance to get.NET, actually quite a good development framework (albiet not being cross platform), into people's computers without demanding they download 26MB on top of their "first program".

So, suddenly if a vulnerability appears in <s>internet explorer</s> safari that lets <s>activex</s> applescript interact, though the web with <s>windows media player</s> VLC, and we've got all sorts of problems on our hands!
What's even more absurd is the loading time of Adobe Reader 6+. I recently went back to 5 because it was so stupidly bloated. Suggestions for an alternative that integrates with mozilla browsers welcome.
The BBC doesn't have domestic advertising, so they and I could care less about the "leak" because they've NOT LOST A PENNY because of it. On the other hand, they've got a lot of publicity and perhaps boosted the international market for the program.
Most new mid to high range phones sold in the UK also come with the ability to recieve FM radio stations. Radio is still going strong here - Clearchannel hasn't taken over.
"We want to make sure our ATMs are integrated with every other channel so when I do a deposit in a [branch] I want to be able to go to [an] ATM immediately and see that deposit"
I do that regularly anyway. An ATM doesn't have to be on "the net" to do that. It has to communicate to the central handling server regardless of it's OS.
That's more like it - games being designed beyond current specs! I'm sick of finding a game looks "dated" not a few months after it's release because the developers capped the top specs at what I can still run on (admittedly good) 2003 hardware.
That just means that the person who "bidded" 260k actually put in a bid of 386k. The next bidder could have, say, bidded 500k and it took it to the previous bidder's maximum putting the new entrant in the lead.

This happens every year. You must be new here.

The PDF has the pictures. I wish people wouldn't link redundant urls.
Commons also labels content very clearly with licences :)
Anyone who had E4 on Telewest or Sky could get the
Big Brother stream for no extra charge anyway.
It's easy to support all browsers except IE, which is where the problem lies.
It was hoped that we wouldn't be using 1970s computers in 2000. Certainly, my local newsagent was still using his atari for managing paper rounds.
I know - but every slow news day needs it ;)
I, for one, welcome our new binary timestamp overlords.
No, because the agent distributed it with permission. You will still be distributing it without any sort of licence to do so.
Now you've got 2x sets of worthless karma :)

Of course he won't find them, if he's only relying on publically disclosed information.
(not read TFA)
The clue was in the tagline "The FTC has shut down...". Seemingly, they've gone back to the same site they had in Feb 04.

WHAT?! I always thought that the interweb was stored in my monitor!

That won't work without editing the story after it's posted - MD only gets the story when the subscribers get it.

And rename YRO into just YR, because it's clear that general rights issues do have a place here.
