Enron pushed through electric power deregulation in 24 state legislatures, which made it possible for them to create the "markets" they needed to rip off consumers. They also had personal contacts and meetings with George W. Bush and probably most congressional and state legislators. By removing the accountability factor of government oversight it makes you wonder. Congress investigating themselves? Do you think they will find themselves guilty of any wrong doings? What a sweet deal.
I'm sure the 'Magic' will become a household name like the Roland guitar. When will these 'boneheads' learn. Digital = lifeless, dull, and clinical in the audio world.
and Sendmail all on OS/2 Warp Server for e-Business and every bit as solid as Linux.. and faster. 32-bit BSD TCP/IP stack, et.all The UnixOS/2 Development team has been making OS/2 a world-class server entry.
eComStation, NetLabs, Odin, Hobbes, UnixOS/2, XFree86. X on OS/2 is pretty cool. Pretty much everything(of consequence)in Linux has been ported to OS/2. If you can get past the sloppy install or use eComStation or eCommerce Warp Server they are solid as hell with a proven industrial grade kernel.
1.5M?? Wish mine was that high here in Connecticut. 384k/128k is tops here. If you can get 40k downstream you got something to cheer about. I have DSL that runs solid with unwavering 150-158k downloads. I keep asking myself why am I keeping cable?
>Its protecting your safety.
How will this stop terrorist acts after the fact?
It's a promiscuious tool for monitoring everyone's activities. Do you think they would be foolish enough to leave themselves open now.
> government bodies that can use this aren't evil
No but the individuals using it can be. I wish I had your faith in human nature.
Is law enforcement really that stupid? I'm sure their monitoring them right now.. warrant or not I know I would be.
I'm sorry but Hatch and Feinstein are Fuc*** idiots. Talk about overreacting. They talk of workin within the law that's what seperates us from terrorists. Now they are bending it to catch them and prying more rights from us. Save time and just go in Afganistan and grab the SOB it would be easier. Only in America or should I start saying Amerika.
They could always do like Caldera and put the AIX kernel under a Gnu distribution. They have JFS already.. seems logical to me. That way they can keep those 'monster machines' running and have uniform apps across the board. Dos, Aix, Windows, OS/2, and who knows what else. Time to weed out the garbage.
criminal my ass... he hurt Adobe's pride and caught them lying.(advertised features). Nothing has been stolen. They should have gotten off their complacent asses and fixed it.
UnixOS/2 is a great alternative for old OS/2'ers.
Pretty much everything in Linux runs on OS/2. XFree86, Gimp, Gnome, KDE, etc. UnixOS/2 the distribution for OS/2 is currently in alpha and getting there. Based on Slack it uses rexx modified dialog install and pkgtool scripts.

Problem with Linux there are no business partners to intimidate like IBM. God help us I still think Warp is far superior to Winblown. Too bad IBM blinked... more like they ran with their tail between their legs but it made perfect business sense.
Once BDSI gets Java up to par with Linux there isn't a damn thing FreeBSD couldn't do. It almost runs Linux better than Linux itself. Security is improving rapidly, IPv6, cvsup, ports, shall I go on. We already know it's the most stable and robust server on this planet. Beos don't make me laugh... a refugee from the gameboy planet like Mac and Win.
Bullshit.. I got Slack/ReiserFS on an Athlon and that sucker is the fastest Unix I ever used. As a Workstation it's king. FreeBSD is close but still lacks on the desktop but not by much with 4.2.
> "an interesting new one: rights to inspect the > source code of competitors' products!" They must think the DOJ are idiots! If I was that judge I would feel extremely insulted.

Anyone want to lend me 2 million? We'll probably still be able to keep a tidy profit when the RIAA breaks it up or makes us bend to their will.

Perfect time for ... Slack! Dump those inferior and untrusted distro's.
... Bullshit!
I needed a laugh today... Get Slack!
I'm sure Mickeysoft is ready to load the newsgroups up with disgruntled Linux users extolling the merits of Windows. It worked for OS/2.

Just updated all my servers. I'm impressed. Look out TuX.
Time will tell... check out http://www.slota.com
under motherboards.
Codenamed Dolphin the dual Athlon is based on the AMD 770 chipset. Should be available 4th qtr this year.
Tyan is almost done with their SMP Athlon board. It should be released soon.
It would run like Hotmail on Win servers.
As long as Windohs is not one of them! Damn this wheelmouse xx!!xx00.
