That hardly makes sense... If the English way was the same as the Scandinavian, the problem couldn't exist, as people wouldn't be prone to inserting superfluous spaces:)
In this case it actually is anglicisms sneaking into the Scandinavian languages. I'm not going to blame anyone for it, but for some reason, people are starting to use grammar forms that are predominantly English.
Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, and German have the same rules as far as compund words go. Either language can make as long words as the situation requires, but it seldom does require longer words than such as "masseødelæggelsesvåben" (Danish for 'weapons of mass destruction', it's similar in Swedish & Norwegian).
Your two english examples are wrong though, we'd never combine words that way. It would be more like "You have to love languages where you can multiwordcombine in order to singleconceptexpress." Note that those two are the verbal forms of the (literally translated) words multiwordcombination (flerordskombination) and singleconceptexpression (enkeltkonceptsudtryk), none of which are used at all, but are readily understandable.
See also Agglutinative languages for some more information on the topic of forming new words by combining others (which does happen in English as well).
ARE YOU RETARDED?
In the 7 minutes since this post was started, you decided not to read the summary and ask a question that was answered in there. No wonder Slashdot is falling apart.
Also, fuck you moderators, you don't know how to mod anyway.
I completely agree. I was helping my dad set up his new surround sound/projector system and that shit is way too complicated for it's own good.
I told him that I couldn't wait until the next generation, or the one after that, when we could get something like ethernet on all the components, each one providing a number of services (audio, video), and each one being capable of receiving a number of services. Then you'd do some dragging and dropping of virtual wires, saying audio from this, goes to these speakers, and this video goes to that monitor/projector.
Everybody knows that in that context, "f" means "fuck", so why not just say it? It already popped up in everybody's mind, so it's not like he's sparing us from anything.

Yeah, I've noticed the same thing in Danish as well. It's often as ridiculous as your example.

How does it need elevated permissions? Dashboard widgets run with the same permissions as the user under whose account they are running (obviously).

That "patch" simply turns any string occurence of autocomplete into a_utocomplete, thus apparently breaking autocompletions.
That would negate the point of the study. It would be like nature documentaries stepping in and stopping wolves from eating their prey.
Props for using potrzebie!
I only have something like 10 bookmarks. For the rest, I just google.
Easy to fix, the audience will be given blindfolds and white-noise headphones before the concert.

Jeez.
Oh wait, I just remembered that I have Privoxy running locally. It could possibly be what is making it work.
Works in Safari for me. Also I can't see anything strange in the headers. Safari 2.0.2 (416.12) on 10.4.3
The problem is less the size of the population than the complexity of the public transport system.
"augh mein gott ich bin lebendes begraften werden! geben sie mich bitte aus von hier!!1"
More or less. Probably the latter.
I'm posting them here, risking life & limb:

But it appears that in this case the cameras are used as USB drives. Wouldn't they also already be disabled, then?
Who says he's even watching? That there looks like an automated message.
Just a quick question, why not do like this?
...
...
for (i = 0; i < 100; i++) {
for (j = 0; j < 100; j++) {
if (sc[i][j] == ch) goto DONE;
}
}
FAIL:
DONE:
Ah well that'll teach me to do math in my head just after I get up.
Amazingly, you could have it down in roughly 22 hours with a 56k maxed out.
See topic.
I haven't a Tivo, but it's possible that mpgcat can do it. I had that work with mpeg files that were wrapped in QT.
