"the freeloading teenagers take over" the young will always "take over" that's how it works.
I find your post interesting because it makes me think that maybe in the rich society we live in this might be a form of wealth redistribution. (From presumably rich corporations to poorer teenagers)
Read this It's an interview of Bernard Lietaer
It explains pretty much why our world is farked up and why there are laws passed to restrict free things
Theoretically, you are right. And in a perfect world that would happen...
But the world isent perfect and when the most powerful country puts pressure, you cant argue that you can politely say "No thank you" That is just silly
It's a dream I guess, the people that will work are the ones who want to work.
I can stay home all day and do nothing if that pleases me, but I have the hope that most people will want to do something.... if that is build a house or a car or program something or write... whatever it is...
Imagine all the *useless* stuff we could do... things that have trouble getting done right now(space program) if you get a bunch of people willing to work for free(for a good cause)
Like I said, it's just a dream... we will only know the awnser in 50 years hehe(or more)
Then everyone can have minimum income supplied by the governement(from the taxes paid by these companies) and concentrate on more interesting stuff(studies, art, anything you want)
I bet M$ will make it's software open source when the open source competition finds a profitable business model and takes away enough business.
Then it will do what M$ does best: Copy and market it.
Wouldnt this be because both Australia and Canada a part of the Common Wealth?
I work for a shipping company here in Canada and I can tell you that shipping stuff around is a pain. Each country has different laws and you have to know about them.
Have you ever tried creating and booting from an OS X CD???
It IS a pain, the creation is easy, but the CD takes a very long time to boot...
This Gentoo LiveCD is a great idea
"They should buy TiVo, redo the interface in a slick Apple way, and link it to the iTunes Movie Store."
You mean like this? -> http://www.apple.com/appletv/

It's just an idea. I don't care either way
Maybe some of that cash will trickle down to my back yart when they start shooting down expensive satellites!
And then god spent half a day trying to compile and install a new Kernel and then God decided to get a Mac instead :)

1.35$ and 1.50$ a song is way to expensive
I have the same model, and it's not only the best laptop, the best computer I have ever had period. It's also my first Mac :)
Will this work internationally?

Does the possibility exist that any of these stories is true?
If one of them is true, dont you think it would be a good idea to investigate?
As for the sources, how do you judge a reputable source?

Well, the US gov. is there to do anything possible to advantage the US citizens who vote for this gov...
If there is more money for American companies then there is more wealth for the U.S.
Since the U.S. makes their laws the laws of the whole world, the whole world should be allowed to vote in the U.S.
The population is closer to 1.2 billion I think.
Thank you!
There is an interesting article about LiquidDemocracy over at K5
Maybe, but it doesn't make sense that I have to join a political party(I guess I have to pay also) to be able to vote for our next leader...
I live in Canada too, but our system sucks even more... look now, the next Prime Minister has aleready been crowned, no voting necessary

You are forgetting something, for 300$ more you get a Mac.
I bet you dont use one, or you would understand.
