Activities other than copying, distribution and modification are not covered by this License; they are outside its scope. The act of running the Program is not restricted, and the output from the Program is covered only if its contents constitute a work based on the Program (independent of having been made by running the Program). Whether that is true depends on what the Program does.
If you receive a copy from someone who can distribute it you can use it.
The hardware could still be working against you. But that all would be a little hard with one time pads, just implent in some minimal custom language (the encryption is simple enought to be easly done on anything), you'd need an AI in your hardware to catch everything.
You use one time pads and test the compiled binary by decoding a message by hand. Anyway, if he was just asking about crypto backdors why include the network card?
LAME seems to be doing wonders, at least for the music I listen to on the go (classic from Magnatune). Maybe you should try the latest LAME before slaming my hearing, try to not to fall for the placebo effect.
One toolbar with a few carefully selected icons sounds like a good default to me. I think abiword should get rid of the formating bar as it clutters the workspace and makes it easy to do "bad" formating. Also I seem to remember Word 97 having the "Graphics" toolbar by default at the bottom, but I could be mistaken.
The moment they insert article obscuring and/or moving ads into newspapers and magazines...
As you said GPL only covers use so even if you break the GPL and lose the right to distribute you can still use the software.
You can use more than one word...
People are still making games like Zork. Some of them involve killing, but many do not.

You don't need to. Encode on a machine not connected to any network. Send with another.
You twist it to shoot disks: it's the ultimate toy for really powerfull ninjas!
I was hoping for wallpapers with alpha channel... More Gnome news please!
I think they would run from penguins...
I want an Ayanami...
That's a feature...
Text is also easier to reread.

I haven't used Word in a long time, but I am talking about the first impression (it's full of icons) not menu bar visibility.
Have you ever heard of Emacs?
He is obviously talking about the in-your-face expierence -- the menu bar is small compared to all the default toolbars in MS Word.
I find them better than most of the icons included in the article.
So you hear things and your first though is not 'hallucination'?
Didn't you hear that doing common activities on GNU+Linux requires expensive re-training? They'll just leave 'Solitaire' of the program.
I've seen spam in Slashdot sigs...
Do you think that Knuth ever had problems getting a big enough email account!?
That's why we have Nautilus: insert a blank CDR, drag files, burn.
