I play SOF2 on a PB enabled server... in fact, I search exclusively for those servers... I've noticed a couple of cheaters so far, but by far, it seems to work out quite well..
Same goes for Enemy territory - not very many cheaters, and generally makes the game 'funner' to play...
One thing I *did* notice was that when the 'sync gameplay' was enabled (I think thats what it's called) that it would slow everyones FPS down without really telling anyone about it... so people would have laglike issues on a BRAND NEW machine - but other than that no problems at all...
As far as bannign Invalid CD-Keys - what a waste of time....
I'm wondering when Laptop Manafacturers will make laptops that people can put together themselves - much like we do now with desktops and servers... I would think that you buy a specific 'case' that includes a screen and keyboard, and everything else would be standardized, so you can get a mobo that you want, a proc that you want, ad nauseum... WHY HASN'T THIS HAPPENED???
If it's opt in, it's not un solicited, now then is it? SUPPOSEDLY, Gator/GAIN is optin, but I've never said yes to it... Besides, spam is already opt-in - the little linky at the bottom aren't optout, they'er opt-in - it means that you're reading the emails so, they send you more....
Even though this is 'old news' It would be pretty cool if they culd get a WiFi chip on the fly, and a little more space... Maybe practicality is not present here, but if every frickin' fly I see has a Wireless access for me and my laptop, I think that would be pretty cool....
no big suprise... When I was in college, not that long ago, I'd have sold just about anything... True, I'd have asked for more than $20 for it, but I'd have done it... To me it's no suprise that peopel would do that... as stated a ways above, $20/ mo is a lot of food money!!!
JV: I think lobbying is really an honest profession. Lobbying means trying to persuade Congress to accept your point of view. Sometimes you can give them a lot of facts they didn't have before.
This is the greatest crock I've ever heard. Lobbying is about bribing who you have to to get what you want.
It's just like the guy in high school who is always collecting 'favors' from one group or another, just so he can get isht for free...
Please Jack, if you're gonna speak, at least pull your head out of your @ss so you get get the isht out of your mouth. I'm tired of listening to this crap. Last time I checked, this was a FREE country, with rules set to prevent ANARCHY! Just becuase you rip a DVD, or copy a VHS cassette or what ever, that doesn't mean that you're contributing to anarchy... It means you don't want to pay the outrageous friggin' prices that they charge at BB and the theatres....
To sum it up, Jack, you're full of isht!;beer;
Everyone knows that broadband connections are what everyone is switching to... Soon, even that will be slow...
Personally, most peopel I know that ave AOL have it becuase they don't know any better. Even they don't like it...
Besides, who likes the 'gateways' anyway?
In soviet russia, AOL subscribes j00!
is apple startign to act a lot like gasp m$/gasp
I think it's bull... so the MAKER of their greatest feature yet wants to Open Source HIS code... more power to him, unless it breaks his contract Of course, then it's hos own dumb@ss fault for voiding a contract to begin with...
Ok, enough reambling, I'm going to RTFA now...
;beer;
your light has gone out...
if you move downward any fartheryou will be eaten by a grue
you were eaten by a grue, please try again.
(yes, mod me down, but it's still damn funny!)
;beer;
But how about getting us a card that normal
people can afford?
I can't even afford a G4 right now - damn military...
I realize that these things cost money, but let's get realistic... You have to keep the prices low, otherwise people won't buy the product...
And I think that the 2 slot thing is jsut wrong...
Why not simply put all the hardware on the OTHER side of the card. (I'm sure there's a reason for this) Then you don't need that goofy looking heatsink/fan combo...I would think that maybe you could reroute the heat that way....
/shrug
That's my take..../suits up in flameproof suit
This will get modded down, but here goes
In Soviet Russia, gzip spams j00!
As said above, this is interesting, but not particularly precise...
The only way to stop spam, is to prosecute the spammers - just like the anti fax spam legislature did, we need the same principal applied to email... I'm not a supporter of more laws, and more legal BS, but I think in this case it's an acceptable trade-off;beer;
If it acttually works...
Most people I know (that know WHAT divx is) Don't care if they can play the movies on their PS2, Xbox, or DVD player... They play them on their computers...
I have a buddy who/koff backs ups/koff his DVD collection - he rips, compresses with Divx, then puts them onto a VCD, or back onto a DVD - what use does this do him?
For that matter, if I can buy a DVD burner for ~$400 USD (from Circuit City, no less) that will brn all formats.... Why do I care if I can play DivX discs - I can 'backup' a DVD just like I would a CD...
I think it's too little too late...
The only great thing I see this being used for is to fit longer movies on a standard 4.7GB disk, and keep the reselution fairly clean...;beer;
To a degree...

We're getting closer to the ability to go truly virtual, in realtime...
;beer;
This world will be a scary (or cool) place in 25 years....
According to me...
In Soviet Germany.... C&C:Generals restricts j00!
