I'm no bio major, but from what I understanad:

no, they have basically mapped out the human genome, but they have no clue what most of it is.
    ATGC...uh yea...very meaningful.

The way they find genes is that they take a specimen that exhibits a specefic characteristic.
    say, pigmentation of the skin.
then they find a specimen that doesn't show tht characteristic: an albino specimen.

They take the albino specimen, map out its gene, take the "normal" specimen and map out its gene.
then its a matter of "hunting" down the gene responsible for the "problem"

so, its basically mapped out, but the genome is a great mystery.

    Hope this helps.

A type three civilization is galactic. They have colonized most of the stars in the galaxy. On this scale, we are type zero -- we get our energy from dead plants, i.e., oil.
We physicists believe that in a hundred to two hundred years we will attain type one status. However, to have warp drive, you must be an advanced type two, or type three, civilization.

If you bought the wrong oil, like 20w-50 when your bmw requires 5w-30
(note: I don't actually know what each demands. However, I do think BMW specifies synth stock while GM uses organic stock)

Well, damnit! you put the wrong oil in, the oil wasn't able to protect the engine, and thus lead to engine failure!

However, if you bought an oil that was to the right specifications, they can't nail your dead engine on the non BMW oil.

Now, if I were to modify the engine, say bore it out, change the cam shafts, etc. And after the modifications the engine didn't work. Now that's the OWNER's fault, not BMW.

Thus, Apple is not at fault here. Users modified the product so that it is no longer OEM. The repair for the iPod should come from the user's pocket.

Glad I got an MD player. Using it for 5 years, take it jogging, take it hiking. Dropped it a few times. Still works fine.
