  1. Another VLSI breakthrough on On the Gripping Hand · · Score: 1, Redundant

Seems like the days off CCD are numbered... this system uses VLSI instead of CCD, much easier to produce and integrate on a chips, heck, it IS the same technology they use to produce chips. Digital camera's are bound to reduce in price thanks to VLSI, already you can buy professional digital camera's using this technology, for an unheard of price. On the topic of this robot thingy itself: think some NASA scientist are going ballistic if they see this, they're also studying on this, but the results are A LOT slower. (they say it's due to the admittetly extraordinary complicated maths/ volume of calculations involved, guess they'll have to rethink some of these claims) Boy oh boy, what they do not show on the video's, is the size of the computer controlling it, they claim is fairly integrated, but, it's always easy to rig a puppet on a string demonstration, where a CrayII runs the show, behind the curtains...

MIR was waaaay over its shelf-time, but the severely cash strapped Russians kept it going; bravely or stupidly? The American press was going: 'it's a disaster waiting to happen' and they were all but forced by the Amercan Gvt to deorbit it, because there were concerns that keeping it going would impede the ISS funding. The FGB (functional cargo block) and living quarters in use on the iss are just modules VERY similar to the original MIR predecessors, and they function just fine (thanks to funding) Before this goes O.T.: this all sounds eerily familiar when you look at the shuttle: it should've been decommissioned by now, according to the original plans, but NASA plans to use it for years into the future... This does NOT look good....

Is it stupid to trust those attachment because you ALWAYS get those from them? i guess so, if you own a PC running OE. Oh well...

We evolve toward less physical fitnes for the wilderness, because we don't need to cope with that wilderness anymore, we just grow bigger heads, and a beerbelly, gues eventually human race would evolve towards an ET creature in the long run, ET couldn't cope on eart because there was still wilderness, well we're working on that issue anyway..
