Only if they could add the extra stuff in Sim City 4 using Sim City 2000's engine. IMO, Sim City 2000 was the pinnacle of the whole franchise. It seemed that it went downhill from there, mainly due to the shoddy graphics system (crazy amounts of RAM are needed to keep build the kinds of things that were standard in Sim City 2000)...I say they make sure that Sim City 5 is extremely optimized, perhaps by studying 64k demos etc.

However, watch out about the DVI input on your HDTV. Many don't officially support Computer DVI imput and while you might see the signal, the resolution may be really whacked up. Case in point, my Sony KF50WE610 Rear Projection LCD, when displaying from my G4, shows only 640x480 or (when forced into a reasonable 1024x768, a shrinked and panned picture.

My experience with Sony extra battery packs has been horrible. They are very big and bulky compared to the device size. Check out the MZ-R50's extra battery pack for an example. I wonder if the battery will last longer if they use a Lithium Polymer Battery instead of a Lithium Ion one.

Yea, here in Houston you get 8 channels of HD and some spanish channels which only broadcast 480i on their digital network. I bought a Hughes $300 DirecTV/Off-air receiver and a Total Choice w/o Local package. It works out pretty well but I am worried if it will be upgradable to 8-PSK when DirecTV switches over to all HD.

They've got nothing to lose while companies such as Verizon are not willing to risk alienating and antagonizing their customers. So much for colleges being at the forefront of free thinking and sharing of knowledge...looks like all the universities are just running scared.

Nowdays, a more reliable yet still cost effective solution would be to use MiniDV tape to record data. 5 GB per tape w/ error correction sounds reasonable to me, and considering that the data is recorded digitally end-to-end (via firewire), and recorded twice to compensate for the magnetic tape, this seems to be a great idea. It wont be as cheap as VHS, but its much cheaper than DLT or MO solutions.
