When I heard from someone who had got it, (I'd been waiting for months for the US release,) I called my local Fry's, and I went down that evening and managed to get a copy on sale for 14.99 (that day only) Now if only I owned a PS2...
I remember a spot (years ago) about an artist who would use a certain art program, I believe it was on an Amiga, and he would purposely kill the machine, (it may have been with a virus,) and the resulting images were quite fantastic. I can't say for sure, but I think it was on PBS or something similar. Can't find a reference to it for the life of me.
I doubt that was their bug. IE used to do the exact same thing a version or so ago. It's due to the inplementatin of shortcuts being at an abstracted rather than a more transparent level.

Mod parent up? Precious little to go on, to lazy to google, but it sounds nice.
But I believe it's been said that this is considered in addition to the gameboy. I presume they'll continue to make more normal gameboys which will carry on the tradition. (and I guess the DS would more accurately be labeled cross-compatible)
interpretive dance is a little more subjective than a two player game based on capturing territory. Next time come up with a better example, like baseball.
I'll admit that I like go, but I tend to be about as good as a computer at it, so I don't enjoy playing against anyone. Hence I'd just as soon they continue persuing chess so that I have a go opponent I can enjoy playing.
Go to windows's "folder options" from the tools menu of some open folder, on the file types tab, and find the.htm and.html types. Highlight, click "advanced", highlight "open" in the list, hit "edit", and find that the dde info is still set to IE for some reason. Uncheck "use dde", ok all the windows, and it'll work. (if you go back and check, the dde will still be checked, but will be set to firefox as it should be) Go back and repeat for the other extension you didn't do the first time.
If you watch, there's a little green man pushing it around. (Seriously!) By about half way through the movie, he's barely noticable. (because the ball's gotten so lart)
Seems like a good way to wear out the rumble, and sell more controllers. Back in my N64 days, even with the only occasional shaking of Zelda, I found the rumblies get less and less as the months rolled by. A game like this would change that to weeks, if not days.
Until I tried Puzzle Pirates, I would have told you that I'd never pony up for the hardware and monthly fees of a MMPOG. (I'm currently running a p250ish on dialup)
After a few days of trial, I've already subscribed to PP, and I'm loving it. And it will only get better as blockades and trades and even more puzzles are added.
I've known some people whose brain shorts from thinking about straight to doing. Granted, they weren't the kind of folk you'd call intelligent, or successful, but not everyone is as premeditated as might be desired.
I decided to check, and found some details at uspto.gov under patent number 6,558,265. Pretty cool stuff. Uses rubber bands, and it's quite adjustable. Might have to get me one someday. There's also a scissor lift kind of rubber band based design also included in the patent, which might be equally cool if they start making it.
Now if only I could find a cheap/easy way to make me some stilts
When I got my camera, I narrowed things down quite a bit by knowing I wanted some form of digital storage, the ability to plug it into my computer, a decent optical zoom, and enough normal features to keep me happy.
With similar criteria my friend, who's now a father of two, wound up with basically the same Sony camera that I got. And as far as I know, neither of us have any significant gripes.
Also, if there were such a thing, I would have jumped at a camera that could do frame by frame stuff, so that I could make dumb movies of my furniture moving around or something. But that's just me. (un?)Fortunatly, such cameras were way too expensive at that point.
If I had to do it again today, I'd probably be leaning toward mini-DV, or DVD media for reasons of quality and compatibility.
Indoors, my sony digital8 camcorder, (similar to some other digital imaging devices I've seen,) often shoots things a little too well for my taste. Usually when I use it to film something, I go in and turn down the "brightness" to get a result I like. (btw, that's a smaller screen Sony digital8. The night vision is kinda cool, but I have yet to think of a legal use I could put it to)
I have no idea what the lux rating on my camera is, so feel free to set me straight if I'm missing your point. I just figured I should say something since you mentioned Sony specifically.
This sounds exactly like something Microsoft wants to solve with their NCSB. (that's next generation secure computing base)
Though as someone else has mentioned, is it really doomed to fail? Logically, it would seem to be the natural path to take, assuming such digital evidence continues to be used.
Personally, I could see a market for that, but I'd rather have the option of not having to deal with it on my own machine. It would be similar to all the copy porteciton nowadays, but far more insidious and annoying.
Did you miss that whole bit about how there are at least two people that are making rocks that are only distinguishable from "real" diamonds because they are better?
Just checking, because it souded like these people were hoping to do just what you mentioned as being heavily fought. And so far, they haven't been killed as far as I know.
I, for one, welcome the death of our diamond-scarcity-based overlords.
I was power-browsing, and went to open a few new windows... unfortunately I was in IE at the moment. And on my zombo.com window. So I wound up with multiple windows going at the same time...
talk about some trippy echo effects. I'm going home now.
Since Smash Bros is one of the bigger titles that N has had the past few years. Loss or significant degeneration could mean less sales of their next console, or something like that.
Then again, I never bought SSB:M, so maybe it wouldn't be that bad after all.
3D GUIs are a joke. Not a joke, but not worth the extra dimension. It's bad enough having to sort through two dimensions of "desktop" clutter.
Of the attempts I've seen, all have been incredibly less useful than their 2D counterparts. A great way to say "wow, that looks cool" and little else.
Show me a voice controlled multi-relational interface, and then you're talking. I say "hey, show me my bank balance," and it determines the appropriate box of my checking account spreadsheet, and tells me. Now that would be useful. Though it would take a heck of a lot of time, "training," disk space, and processing power to make that happen. Oh well, at least I can dream.
As long as our elections are winner-take-all instead of something that makes sense like proportional election, many of our "winning" candidates will continue to not be elected by significant amounts of the populace.
Personally, I didn't vote, so I definitely didn't elect any of said idiots. Give me whatever grief you may, but the main reason I don't vote is that a "losing" vote is a wasted vote. Granted, no excuse for, say, the presedential election...

I know what I'll be doing at work on Monday.

That's all, really. I recall it being a fun game, if a little straighforward. I think it would make a nice game for on the go.
I'll admit that I like go, but I tend to be about as good as a computer at it, so I don't enjoy playing against anyone. Hence I'd just as soon they continue persuing chess so that I have a go opponent I can enjoy playing.

You don't egt big, the ball you're rolling gets big. While the ball isn't too huge, you can barely make out the little green figure rolling it around.

That, to me, is a very good way of thinking. In the same vein is paranoid programming. Remember murphy's law. You get the idea.
Unfortunately, such things take far more time than making a few assumptions, and hoping for best practice.
