Am I the only one that sees the lack of utility in this? There's the aspect of bringing the occasional multi-millionaire into space... but spaceship two is a suborbital craft and thus would have problems launching a satellite into orbit thus nullifying a lot of its commercial use. Additionally, space is not a huge tourism industry. I'm sure it could be some day, but as is, we simply don't have the technology to safely, efficiently, reliably and comfortably cart people to any destination outside of the atmosphere. From an economical standpoint this looks to be a train wreck waiting to be unleashed.
In all seriousness though, this is a decent idea but has few practical purposes. Yes the article does mention that water and blood look the same under the scope so army physicians should have a pair, but it's the rods, not the cones of the eye that are much more sensitive to movement which is what the soldier needs to pinpoint a target.
that for the most part, purely digital formats are much easier to acquire and can be done so (almost) on demand, is this really unexpected? CD sales are (probably) going down at about the same rate that digital sales are going up.
Don't you watch South Park?! it'll be MASA... The Mexican Aeronautics and Space Administration and the good part is they'll do it for pennies on the dollar. 17 Billion pesos there is about 5 bucks!
If you're going to back up a file (actually a set of files) that is worth that much, wouldn't it be smart to go a bit further than keeping a backup copy on magnetic media?! Maybe in more than one place too?!
...you should have to pay something for radio in general whether it be in ads or a subscription fee... that I have no problem with. What I have a problem with is the RIAA taking a healthy share for themselves and leaving much less for the bands and the stations that actually provide the music. Why do you think it is that small towns don't have stations with big name songs and artists... It's simply a factor of RIAA fees. If the artists had a better spokesperson music would be how it was intended and reach everyone that wanted to hear.
I didn't log in right away... It's funny that my image verification word was detest
Does this mean that, in an unfamiliar town, I can just type "pizza," hit "I Feel Lucky," and be connected with the most popular pizza joint in town based on call volume?

You just feed the storage media into itself and boom... infinite storage!
Why didn't I invest in weapons-grade uranium!? I would have made a 900% profit in the past for years!
I could just put it in crates in my apartment!
Heck, Marie Curie won awards for having uranium lying around and nothing bad ever came of her
this is such a good idea
but where's the mushroom mushroom?!
Perhaps the universe is just poorly anti-aliased
But doesn't it then make it rather ironic that there are weight rooms in prison?!
...as comparing a Ferrari to a Geo Metro
Honestly, Windows ME vs Windows Vista would be a more fair comparison
I don't want to start a holy war here, but what is the deal with you Vista fanatics?
Woah! I know you guys are angry, but don't all three of you stand up at once!
So you're saying... another article down the tubes?!?
Actually it depends on the technology. If the two are the same color, the implementation they're talking about probably uses an ultraviolet spectrum.
I had something that did this exact same thing!
I think it was called a flashlight.

I for one thank our porn permitting overlord!

What do we do with the 8 hours of the day we would have otherwise spent scrubbing the bathtub with a toothbrushZ
Why don't they just color code it to show the non-secure points and send a fax to all known hackers?
oh... just got an email!!

It's coming from inside the building!!!

... and that is why I still program in assembler and I use notepad. You're such a wuss... I program in hex using vi!
Either:
1) the "inventor" will hold it strictly for bragging rights, or
2) he will attempt to litigate and the patent will be found invalid and thus will be issued a trip to the shredder.
If one of these soldiers is severely injured...
Could we rebuild him?
Do we have the technology?
Do we now have the capability of building the world's first bionic man?
Will Steve Austin be that man
and Will he be better than he was before? Better, stronger and faster?
*end obligatory pseudo-quotation*Wouldn't that be the "I Feel Hungry" button??
But you're still stuck running vista.
Are we posting bets now or something?!?
I've got 3 to 1 on YouTube
