Why waste your money on elaborate internet-connected electronics? There are plenty of things you can do to "enhance" your dream state.

    1) Nicoderm Transdermal Patches. If worn during sleep, they have the tendency to cause very interesting and detailed dreams/nightmares. The only downside here is that you cant determine in advance which will happen. You could have an awesome dream, or, you could have a titanically bad nightmare. More interestingly, the number of patches you wear at night correlates directly with the vividness of the dream you have.

I don't have a problem with the translucent logos. It's stuff like Cartoon Network's bright red opaque Adult Swim logo (which I noticed they finally changed), or Starz Action's multi-colored logo, or the animated logo of some network that I can't remember (real good job that one did).

Honestly, you don't pay for local stations, the advertisers do. So its not really your choice.

Actually, it is. If I choose not to watch a channel due to their obnoxious logo, the advertisers lose money. Plus I really am paying for Starz's logos.

I have never seen a magazine article with a 5-inch ad block right in the middle of the article's text. Even when an article is interrupted by ads, the magazine at least has the decency to tell me where it continues so that I can skip the pages with the ads. Most importantly, the ads in magazines are not constantly flashing and animating.

I'm not forced to watch those ads. I can go take a piss if I want. TV ads also attempt to be at least moderately entertaining to watch. TV ads (usually) don't constantly sit at the top and bottom of the screen, blocking content and constantly animating in different fluorescent colors.

I didn't say that they must be held to the same standards. I said that they should not be forced to take action based purely on heresay.

  16. Re:People's time is worth something. on eBay Beats DMCA · · Score: 2

It takes time and money to craft a letter asserting your legal position -- whether you do it yourself or pay an attorney. It is unreasonable for ebay to require that you do additional work to comply with some internal procedure that they have developed.

It takes a whole lot more time and money to file a frivilous lawsuit (meanwhile, the bootlegs are probably still being sold). I don't see how requiring someone to prove that their copyright is being violated before an auction is shut down is being unreasonable. Shutting down auctions (or websites) on the mere unsubstatiated accusation of infringement seems much more unreasonable. And I could see how that could very quickly turn into major legal and economic nightmare for Ebay.

It would be like your neighbor telling you that that he would not remove his car from your driveway until you filled out that "Car Removal Request Form" that he developed.

Except Ebay doesn't know you and it's not something so blindingly obvious as a car parked in the wrong driveway. Not to mention that there is a third party in this (the seller) who is being accused.
