We've seen basically the same thing you mention. Our site is becoming more and more popular the past few years, with people looking for discussions online.
Would you mind contacting me directly? I'd like to do a feature piece on the future of online discussions and include your remarks. I'd need your permission to do so. My email is available through here.
"On the Monday following the second Wednesday of December (as established in federal law) each State's Electors meet in their respective State capitals and cast their electoral votes-one for president and one for vice president."
Which is also the same time that the/. effect ceases:)
I did read the full article. Why not have reports from real people that have traveled the areas, and arrange them as to GPS coordinates, rather than rely on computer simulations.
One site I found recently did this with Sleeping in airports
Its not the same thing, but could be done in a similar fashion. My point is that its always more fun being there.
I've got everything boarded up, car full of gas, important documents in a weatherproof container, and ready to unplug the computer and haul it away. No evacuation here yet, but we'll see what happens overnight.
Conditions here in Gainesville Florida are going downhill fast. Not a lot more I can do except wait it out. I'm not worried, but my 16 yr. old son is getting nervous.
I'm posting updates to the weather conditions in our hurricane section on our discussion board if anyone is interested. I'll update as I can.
There is a slew of sites on that same server according to Webhosting Info that are infected, some with windows-update.exe and others with windows-update32.exe
The member IRC Networks of IRCUnity have been systematically shutting down those channels as quickly as they are found. IRCUnity is the same group that disabled the Fizzer Worm last year.
I'll hang off posting on NANAE for now unless someone mentions it, thanks anyways:) On another note, I got an Ebay phish this morning, sent out an email to the site host, and within an hour the site was down, with a thanks from the hosting provider. Interland was the provider, and they acted very quickly to shut the site down. The email bounces seem to be slowing down, so it looks like a short spam run, hopefully.
It's spamvertising a mortgage lender. I'm tempted to go to their site, fill out the info, and see who contacts me. I have a few disposable telephone numbers I can use so that they can call.
Someone is sending spam using my email address as the return, and I'm getting hundreds of bounced emails.
The originating IP's are all different, and I am assuming these are all compromised systems. I'm not going to email every ISP to let them know, as I've found out that most ISP's do not contact their clients to inform them their systems are compromised. All I can do is contact the upstream providers for the web site being spamvertised, and hope that the hosting provider shuts them down.
This past summer, the G8 Summit meeting was at Sea Island, not 75 miles from Tybee Island. I had business in the area, and went through the security checkpoints each time. I had thought they would be looking for something like that to be a threat to the meeting.
Now we find out that there was possibly a nuclear weapon there, and the security details failed to notice the radiation. I would not be surprised to hear about some Congressional sub committee spending our tax dollars to do an investigation of the security failure.
I just checked our Directory page for 3D chat room listings, and it's not showing a lot of hits over the past 6 months. (Google shows that page as the fifth result for the term "3d chat rooms")And a cursory glance at the various 3D site's Alexa rankings shows most of them in the over 100K range, which isn't good.
3D has never in our 6 years been in the top 50 topics.
I could see 3D more for military applications rather than civilian. After all, any military that spends thousands on a hammer NEEDS a 3D chat room, at any cost.
The one quote from the Business Week regarding the wrath of God smiting Florida came from a post on NANAE, where the poster was blasted with one negative comment after another.
To take the position that God should somehow clear Florida by sending hurricanes is absurd. Literally millions of people with no connections to spam were affected.
Four people died in Blountstown, an 8 year old girl in Milton, and several others in Panama City Beach, and so far, no connection between the deceased and spamming.
If Mr. Helm wanted to write a piece regarding spam and Florida, he should of posted all the comments flaming the moron that had written the original post.
We're opening it as a retail outlet for a local wholesale nursery. Their site is 132 acres, so I figured one fifth for us. I've been doing some research, and found that the lower third is considered wetland, although available for commercial use. Prior to learning that, I was working on a recycling system for watering. I'm going to put pond liner strips of 8' X 50' down over pine straw mulch, forming a center channel for water, and place the plants on the liner strips. And we'll put catch basins at the lower ends, transferring the water to several holding tanks, which will then be used to water. It's a bit more complicated than that, but thats the quick overview. I knew that I had to come up with a recycling plan to help prevent polluting the ground water with nitrate rich runoff.
Property insurance in Florida is a joke. The only reason people have to buy it is to satisfy the conditions of a mortgage. In general, insurance companies here are offering about 30 cents on the Dollar for hurricane related damage. As to your other question, that was just wishful thinking.
Florida has for a long time been the haven of spammers, so the State knows all eyes are on the AG's office to see how they enforce the new law.
You can read more about the law, and there is a provision to report spam, on the MyFlorida web site. The only downside to their reporting procedure is that you have to fill out a form, rather than just forward the spam email, but that may change in the future.
Why not turn spammers information over to the Florida AG office. They're itching to try out our new spam law, and besides, with all the damage from the hurricane outbreak here, the state could use the money.
My girlfriend and I had just bought 28 acres to open a nursery next spring, and found a large oak across the only building on the property. It was an old frame structure, and not worth much, but now we have to buy something for an office. Too bad I couldn't get some of the spammers fines to buy a new building.

I spent many years in Germany, and in my high school years either biked or hitchiked around Europe, including Bavaria and Switzerland.
No virtual reality program can ever replace hiking the trails of Switzerland, camping out under the stars and breathing the cold mountain air.
I may be tempted to change my mind about virtual reality if it came with a very real stein of beer, wurst and a hard roll.
I dubbed it "Floricane" but there is a variety of raspberry named that.

What does it mean when your DSL modem lights are freaking out, smoke is coming out of the back and the case is hot to the touch?
Thanks for that information :)
