Seriously at that high price, the PS3 looks affordable ! By releasing this "Elite" 360, they are validating everything Sony is trying to feed us about the PS3's high price.
I am waiting for the next SKU named : "Xbox p0wns all Elite+ !", the I will laugh at everyone wh bought the "Elite".
If anyone is like my friend, who has created at least 5 different silver accounts, that would mean that there is at least 1.2M users on LIVE ?!?

Its been a month now since I started looking everywhere to get my hands on a 60g PS3.
They are nowhere to be found except online on ebay.
Microsoft gives each developer a complete set of TCR ( Technical Certification Requirements ) that they need to respect. It prevent low level access to any hardware. If you do, you fail your certification.
It is *not* hard to emulate an Xbox with an Xbox 360.

What could really be the reason for X360 to not being fully backward compatible ?
My guess is that M$ are incompetent in the emulation area.

Technology IS ALWAYS going faster and bigger ! Moore thinks that in 10 years you'll be able to Download 25-50 g ( blu-Ray capacity actually ) in an acceptable delay ? THINK AGAIN !! In 10 years... 56k modems will still be around for lots of us who are not near enough a city. EVEN if we make it to Broadband everywhere, it will still takes too much time to download your favorite games, and NO ONE likes to wait. Put a sock in it Mr. Moore.

Ok this is a game oriented forum... NOT A GEM magazine that reports every easter eggs cheat codes and special litlle features in a game

You have to count the 2 threads that are already running by the system.
Working for a major game company here, doing a port, and I can assure you that if we want to have some juice out of that crash-box, we need >= 3 threads going for ourselves.
I am a close friend to some of the artists in the project. Here are some facts :
1) None of the original assets were used. Its all Fan-Art.
2) Square was contacted to ask permission to do this.
3) Square never answered that letter.
4) Square was contacted again asking about the first letter.
5) Square never answered that letter either.
It is my understanding that you CANNOT have any other networking technology on Xbox than Live. So if you were thinking that it would be great for your PC and Xbox user to play with each other... better think that over again. You are tied to Live, like it or not.
If you are into Xbox game development you have to go thru certification to get your game out in retail.
Microsoft dictates that you can ONLY USE the latest 3 SDK's they have released. Those SDK's are now only supporting.NET ( as the three latest SDKs are only supporting.NET )
So, for a small game company who wants to develop games only multi platform ( which includes Xbox ), the choice seems obvious...

I work for a Major game co. as a Senior Software Eng. and believe me, in this case, emulation is a no-brainer.
Simply put, IMO, they have no excuse, except for financials maybe, not to offer 100% backward compatibility.
