I meant in this case I would choose the aid, chill out man. Remember, slashdot tries to have a discussion like a real conversation. Since I replied to the parent i was speaking to him and not the rest of the crowd, I would of been if I just posted my comment as a new Parent post.
I never thought this post was flamebait either, mods can you please be more digigent with those points please. Just mod fairly please, this poster does have a point.
But you have a point, a lot of young people think they have hit maturity but from other peoples point of view, (who are older) they havn't. Declaring that you have hit this new level of self restraint is a sign itself that you are infact not mature.
Think of the irony if you got modded down for your post, as a parody but the mod assumed it was a troll like the GNAA postings because he never read it properly?

I recently bought my dad a second hand B&W, I made sure he had one mouse button, all he wants to do is import photos and maybe surf the web, when he is ready he will learn how to print his photos as well. He never touched a modern computer in his life and he is getting by just fine considering his lack of experience. My step mum on the other hand had trouble with a 2 button mouse and couldn't tell which was left and right, she has no trouble with the one button, computers should be this easy to use, advance users have lost sight of this.
My dad has 4 icons on his dock, one is the trashcan and the other is the finder. Keeping it simple for him. The machine is always on 24/7 as well as they find it hard to turn off. They don't even use expose yet.
Try troubleshooting for your parents with just the 2 button mouse to question about and then realise the one button mouse IS a good thing for some people.
NDA's. Besides, what would happen if somebody would diss the game, thre would be a lot of disheartened people who might cancel their pre-order. What better time to "allow" the reviews on the day it is released?
I wonder if any of the writers will sit back and learn something, infact do they actually post here and how do they feel? I never seem to hear from them in person inside a topic so to me they are a faceless person who make mistakes with what seems no accountability on their part.
America's inaction is causing jobs to be lost, ask the tourism industry in Florida when it isn't profitable to stay there anymore in the summer due to the high winds and storms.
Hate to get nitpicky but computers don't lie, you might think I am one of those people you mentioned, but i'm not. I say this coming from a different angle.
Computers don't lie or make mistakes, its the people behind them, we are the masters and the computers follow us exactly based on logic which we granted them in the first place. Knowing this, if a computer does appear to perform a mistake, its because of a human element. Thus the apparent control you perceive is the opposite way round, but in general (as you pointed out) people don't know that.

If that is the criteria for something that is cool and speaking from a design standpoint, aesthetically pleasing. Then my Lacie external firewire drive is a virtue of design paradigms as well. It also has 6 sides, grey and a blue light that lights up when in contact with the human finger and it also whispers at me as well.
I had trouble really knowing what it was about, then i went to the site and it further put me off, just glancing at it I thought it was talking about the G4 Cube. Your re-write helped and the whole thing is still uninteresting anyway... only because I don't have the aforementioned trophy cube in my possesion anyway!
its a waste if thats its only selling feature, it would need a decent lens and a flash plus none of this extra crappy software and USB cable you have to buy in order to use it like a camera.
My dad recently got a SAGEM camera phone, it doesn't work with macs and SAGEM have told me they are not going to release anything in the foreseeable future for the mac. Its only good now for showing people in the pub or at work rather than transfering any of the photos off it.
Good job he bought himself a real camera a week before.

Having a choice between science and humanitarian aid, I would choose the latter.
Lets not forget what they did to the mac users with HL all those years ago, further screwing up on their part.

Interesting, I never thought of it like that, thankyou.

"noisey" is how the mac users who love Star Wars feel right now I bet! ;)

And the thing is, if Bill did write letter like this then you can probably understand why the windows codebase is so fucked.
