General Motors owns 20% of Fuji Heavy Industries (makers of Subaru automobiles), 12% of Isuzu and 20% of Suzuki. Sure, they're relatively minor stakes, and Nintendo isn't a struggling automaker, but an American firm buying a Japanese one isn't so unrealistic.
