From TFA: "Here at Gear Live we're a little more patient, (okay, maybe just a little more broke) but that hasn't kept us from finding out all we could about the handheld. "
The author doesn't even have a unit yet! This entire article is based on what they could "find out." This is not much different than the Nintendo Fanboy article posted not to long ago. (Just not quite as childish sounding).
I wish people would get over it. They're boobs. That's all. Just a couple blobs of fat and skin.
Everyone else has already made the comment, if she was only 17 why was she there? Wouldn't it be nice if she was drunk in the game? Because God knows how much harm comes to girls that show nipples versus girls who drink too much.
"Aww....you've spotted the big defect in the new calendar. Isn't it terrible? And what about kiddies that are born in Newton week? When is their birthday, in non-Newton years? (Actually, I suggest that such folk should all consider themselves to be... born on the fourth of July!) "
The Newton doesn't occur regularly. They happen in 2003, 2006, 2015, 2020... Think of the confusion people have with the Leap years now... imagine if there was no pattern to follow!
So, I don't see the calendar changing at all. I definitely do not see it changing to this method. Firstly, I don't have outstanding confidence in someone who answers questions like this: "Aww....you've spotted the big defect in the new calendar. Isn't it terrible?" (question #8)
Secondly, what problem is this calendar solving? As other slashdotters have pointed out, maybe getting America to move to the metric system would be a good first step. That would solve more problems than the changing current calendar.
3rd: People aren't very smart. I think Slashdot can agree with me here, the majority of our neighbors are dumb. This new calendar means changing something that few people will want to bother learning.
4th: This one really gets me. Each date falls on the same day every year. Now I like to drink. As do many other people. I like looking forward to having my birthday on a weekend. It may never happen for some people.
The whole "newton year" thing is kind of silly as well. Anyway. Let's just change to stardates. They tell the day and time with only 5 or 6 digits!
When I bought my RIO I tried the armband thing, but never really liked it. If I started running it just bounced around. When I was lifting weights I had to keep moving it to keep from constricting my biceps.
I found what worked best was slightly to the right or left of the small of my back. I run the earphone cord through the back of my shirt (so it doesn't flop around). I can usually position it in a place where it never bounces and I can still easily get to its volume controls. I'm not very tall though, so it might be why I never had a problem with the length of the earphone cord...
I don't agree what he is saying is that Linux belongs to Red Hat. He said Red Hat's Linux. Meaning, the distribution of Linux Red Hat sells. If I say "Bob's HTML is the best", does everyone assume I'm implying that he created HTML? No. They know I am referring to the HTML Bob writes.
It helps with non Lithium-ion batteries. Crystals form over time which cause the memory effect. By smacking the battery around, the crystals are sometimes broken-up.
I've never wanted to plug a portable game system into my TV. On a plane, in starbucks, or in the back of a car (between the airport and office) there isn't a TV available. With the exception of starbucks there really isn't power available either. Even there, its hard to find a plug sometimes.
I would say a small porition people fall in your use model. If you could sit in your living room and play, why would you buy a portable game machine?

"Interestingly enough, Toshiba is actually working with Sony on the Cell processor, a key component of the PS3."
And IBM is part of that group too. STI: Sony, Toshiba, and IBM. Now THAT'S interesting because IBM is doing the PowerPC. The processor found in GameCube and Xbox2.... Who knows how to be in a win-win situation?
Most of the people here are suggesting regular headphones because they are far cheaper than noise-canceling.
What they are forgetting is that to benefit from cheapo headphones is that you have to be playing music or some other kind of noise.
The major advantage of the noise-canceling headphones (especially the ones from Bose), you can just put the headphones on and get silence.
In my last job I would borrow my cube-neighbor's every so often in order to concentrate harder.

Well no, not really.
I kinda made them all up.
My point was there were no details in the article, so I tried to imagine what they might be....
Who is "they"?
So what innovative features will AOL WebMail Support?
1) Advanced URL that allows you to access your email from any computer in the world! No extra software required (*).
2) Up to and over 100 Megabytes of Lightening Fast Mail Storage! (again, no real details in article)
3) Your own personal email address, which is yours and yours alone. Allowing your friends and family to easily remember it and send you email!
4) Super-duper spam blocker. Prevents 90% of the email originating from AOL from leaving AOL! (this WAS discussed in the article)
5) Weekly AOL spam with software attachments. The ZIP file will be a nicely decorated tin.
Where does it end?
When people stop pirating.

You mean this isn't a good response?

This a great question. The article spells out that it only works with the SP. I don't understand why the GBA wouldn't be "compatible."
Slashdot: "Apparently, President Bush is drawing up plans to disable sections of the GPS network in the event of a terrorist attack. "
Article: "President Bush has ordered plans for temporarily disabling the U.S. network..."
That doesn't sound like "drawing up" to me. That sounds like "its already done."

Just thought I'd throw that out there.

I have no interest in HL2. I don't play FPS games let alone games on the PC. MGS3 sounds good to me.
What if you want to use the original controller?
These guys have you covered.

Okay, who's next?
The page linked to asks for your land-line telephone number.

Its December 12 in Japan. Doesn't really matter if people elsewhere know about it coming out or not.
Now if I only had a telephone land line to check and see if I qualify... Oh well.
Only a government can censor something.
"broadly, any government restrictions on speech or writing; more precisely, government restrictions on forms of expression before they are disseminated "
With so few companies left doing anything Infiniband related, makes you wonder what the thinking is here.
