- No one told them to firewall the throttles. Excessive speed made trimming more difficult. - No one told them to turn the malfunctioning MCAS back on, which put the aircraft into its final fatal dive.
With damn-all in the vicinity (I mean, where would those moons go, right?), one would think the two chunks orbiting one another over the eons until they finally slowed enough to gently ease together (that "fender bender" is a catching image) would've done the trick. With no need for mythological missing moons.
I don't know that that's true, that they were perfectly innocent. Neither the article nor the police are clear on that. Was the drone theirs? Do they even own a drone? Did the police or anyone else ever find the drone or other potential owners?
Imagine the expense of that airport being shut down like that, the inconvenience (and sometimes downright distress) for all the passengers, etc. Someone needs to be punished for it, no question, but no question it should be someone guilty.
Agree, totally agree. I was a bit dubious, being a career Airborne / SF Jumpmaster qualified NCO with maybe 150 jumps, maybe 10 freefall / skydiving. But to save "the drop was about two feet total" for last? Bogus.
I see nothing, in any of the links to the Tower of Pisa, that even hint of it being damaged during WW II. It was in danger, no question, given bombing in the city, and the well-known incident of an American Army artillery spotter deciding not to bring fire on it when it was (maybe) being used as a German observation post.
They could spray or spread the sulfur as a powder, no need to burn it, one would think. The volcanoes pumped out sulfur dioxide, but the original link says sulfur particulates, particles, powder.
I'd be more concerned about how many tons of jet fuel it would take to haul 20 million tons of sulfur particulates into the stratosphere.
And yes, one must wonder of the side effects of all that sulfur dust settling back down on the land and oceans.
I was hoping that there were PCs still being made in the US, but apparently not. Oh, they may be _assembling_ some, but most of the components come from overseas.
And all, repeat, ALL of the Republicans who fought ACA tooth and nail are now swearing they were for it, for protecting coverage of preexisting conditions, all along! Lying bastards.
How very interesting! I'd never thought of VR from the developer's point of view despite years of programming (no gaming though). But, then again, I've never even put on or tried a VR headset or software despite a continued mild curiousity about it all.
The users look _so_ silly though; I'd never use it in public, worse than karaoke:-)

I don't use a smartphone of any type. But the free service, Nomorobo, provided by my cable-based Spectrum server works very nicely.

"Mongo only pawn in game of life."
And the "Rings" series doesn't come to mind?
Or how about the Kzin?
Delhi, not so much.
And you expect me to trust some unknown "Youtube star" ?? And an an internet firm in Poland?
Man, there _is_ one born every minute!

So my classic "trip wire and hand grenade" solution is right out then?
But but but ... if you want a flow, you need a downhill. Surely not EVERYPLACE a glacier existed was downhill! Where's the bottom?
Oh ... yeah ... those subducting tectonic plates :-(
So bite me, Oregon.
I humbly submit that the current online cataloging will never replace the original:

Has anyone considered working with the whales on how they can defend themselves? Just a thought.

Hardly. I just had two of these earlier in the month, and from "ordinary" web sites as well. Both needed system reboots, one needed _two_ reboots!

But no damaqe.

That's what they get for wasting an irreplaceable material.
Letting the helium evaporate away, and making virtually no attempt to collect and save or reuse it? Tch tch.
No worries: if the volcano gods have any real objections, I'm sure Mauna Kea is quite capable of looking out for itself :-)
Remember Soupy Sales' gag?
