I think he meant iTunes combined with iPods. This guy obviously knows nothing about the subject if he doesn't even know the name of the service he's complaining about.
Was there ever innovation? Gates basically stole Apple's point-and-click graphical UI from the Macintosh (albeit Jobs got it from Xerox) and licensed Windows to anyone who wanted to use it.
I definately admire Gates' skills as a buisness man, he outmanuevered Jobs, but Apple has always had more innovation on their side.
And I guarantee that if 100 students at my school got admin rights on school-issued laptops, there wouldn't be any disciplinary action and probably just increased security.
The fans of the books/movies are growing older each year too.
I'm still a big fan of the books, which I started reading when I was 11 or 12. That was 5-6 years ago.
My Dad started working for MCI in 1986, stayed when Worldcom bought MCI, stayed when Worldcom went down, and still works there today. If he gets layed off because Verizon decides to replace him with some asshat from their own company, I'll be pissed (and you will feel my wrath!).
Millions of people download music and movie files from P2P networks. They know how to play an mp3, and how to burn it to a CD; I'm sure they will be able to figure out how to do this too.
Modders have been doing this kind of thing for years. In fact, several PC's have been made inside of suitcases exactly like that one. I suppose putting a server in it is a new idea, but I still don't think it's slashdot worthy...
Is your computer as easy to operate as a TV or VCR/DVD? What is the bootup time of your media center? Keep in mind the average user gets confused setting up a VCR.
I understand your point, but will Intel's be as simple to use as a VCR? I doubt it.
I remember reading a couple articles in Popular Science about NASA's budget being cut by the Bush Administration. Maybe they've raised it some since then?

My programming class in high school was counted as an art credit. Perhaps because of the Graphical UI? (We learned Visual Basic :P)
He's creating an entire Wooden PC, his mouse, keyboard, monitor, etc. are all wood. :)
There's US copyright law for you.

Actually, a comment a couple posts below mine says that's the address of the school. :D
Still might have been cracked though.

That's absurd. I don't see how this can be charged as a felony...
:/
The thing the adminsitration should be asking is how the password was leaked.
Fox 5 WWTG in Washington DC at 10PM covered this. They told people how to tell if your machine was being used as a zombie and how to stop it.
I bought a pre-hacked one off eBay for a couple bucks a few years ago. Never worked once.

I mean editors. Poor editing on my part :S.
Is it just me or have the moderators gotten pretty lax lately? Lots of repeat stories and poor editing IMO. - My $0.02 :/
Wow. That girl is every geek's dream. Advanced calculus...grr!
Thanks Apple. It's ridiculous to sue an Apple enthusiast website.
Can a moderator or admin ban this guy? Just look at his record. :|

Nice job, you've found yet another way to insult Americans.
But that was my point...there are enought people who already use mp3s, that this shouldn't be much harder.
My point wasn't how they're getting their music, the point was that if people are smart enought to do that, they are smart enought to do this.

My computer can already do all of this, without some fancy package from Intel. I'll be interested to see how this goes...
I agree. What can this toolbar do that Firefox cannot already do or existing extensions cannot already do?
Web search? Check. Email? Check. RSS feeds? Check. Popup blocker? Check.
Oh wait, there's one thing Firefox doesn't have: Yahoo Personals, Shopping, Games, Music, and whatever crap is there that I don't want.
