I'm sure on of you ubernerds out there will ridicule me, but what is all the seemingly garbled text at the bottom of this guys page? It begins after "begin-base64 644 dayX.tgz" Thanks, and please don't mod me flamebait, my curiousity would be crushed beyond repair...
"Man dies from carbon monoxide intoxication after using laptop for five straight hours, more at 11"
Fuel cells do not "burn" methanol at such a rate as to cause carbon monoxide poisoning, even in a smallish room, if they use a technology similar to this, which I would suspect they do.
Well, I do congratulate this fellow on putting Linux on the Axim, but it seems to me that it has no purpose at all... If you really wanted to do something for the coolness of it all, I would like to see an Axim running Mac OS X, and burning CDs. That would be worth posting about.
Did anyone else notice that the EFF Executive Director, the person who is trying to encourage file sharing, is named Shari Steele? I cannot think of a a better name for a person defending sharing, Except Mr. P. Too Pee, that is.
I don't know how you fellows make a decision, but when I go to the store to buy something, the coolness factor is always huge. For instance, buy the Cheerios that I know will satisfy my breakfast hunger, or go for the Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs, with the awesome toy? I will often go with the latter, even though I know better. (apologies to Calvin for stealing his cereal)
The point I am getting to here is this: Americans have always, and will always, go with the shiny new "cool" object, even when they know better. This "slump" as with all slumps, is temporary. Americans, myself included, will come back to buy the product with the bells and whistles.
I think you are on to something here. I cannot tell you how many times I have thought, "Man, I wish I had a dictionary/map/encyclopedia/etc. right now" when I go to pull out my PocketPC.
I am going on a trip to Rocky Mountain National Park in a couple days, and have downloaded some topo maps that display poorly on my tiny LCD. (Buying paper maps cost money that I don't have...)
As a previous poster said though, folding is not where it's at, what we really need is a cheap-ish roll out display, one that will also be able to take the wear and tear of repeated use.
As long as I am on my little wish list here, I also think that there is a market for a outdoor/weatherproof/rugged PDA. If such a thing already exists, please excuse my ignorance.
It seems to me that this rep from Apple, unless I am very naive, is being very candid and honest with us. It seems that, by showing us the complete specs on the benchmarking, they are doing what they claim to be doing. Thinking differently, and giving us (for 3 grand) an honestly faster machine. I appreciate the prompt frank response from Apple on this controversy. I am typing this on a PC, simply because I could build it myself for less money than I could buy a nice Apple. Ah, the life of a poor student...
The difference in policy regarding announcements of future advances may be a result of the processors being made by IBM now. I think it is an IBM announcement more than an Apple one.
I would have to say that I have not heard a better term for stupidity in a while. "...a stunning demonstration of self-proctology." is a wonder of the english language. I applaud the author.
How did they take this over 3.5 days? Didn't the sun get in the way? Last time I checked, only regions north of the arctic circle get no light for a few days, and that only occurs at specific times of year, so... what gives?
I wonder, even though the damages have been stated, will Earthlink see a penny? These individuals cannot be that wealthy, or they would not be spamming...
I hate to do this...

I hate to bring this up, but I have a link here that had this story a while back...
NASA has been looking at new shuttle designs for quite a while, but like anything involvingthe guvmint, it takes a loooong time.
You can see one here.
Sorry to waste anyone's time...

Could a reason for their leaving possibly be in reaction to Blizzard's handling of the battlenet controversy? Just a thought...

You know, nail clippers are "approved" and they snatch those before you go on a plane...
I cannot believe that "they" will ever allow a flammable substance such as methanol onto our airlines.
And yes, I realize that hard liqour is flammable and served on planes, but it is not nearly as volatile as pure methanol is.

Ah, yes, my bad, that will teach me to read an article that fast. My apologies to all who had to see my stupid question.

I have one question. How did these mice get tubers in their brains? I know my mom used to tell me that my ears were so dirty, I could grow potatoes in there, but I did not think it would really work... I guess I did not realize it was such a problem.
What? This is no first. I am first. I am the leader of this board now. Taxes will come soon.
I don't know how this will help, because it is a well known fact that womwn are less-abled not only in parking, but in the mathematical arts.
FP?
I want in on this.
