Indeed. The first time I ever tried to watch a DVD that wasn't ripped, I got an error message saying that Copy Protection wouldn't allow me to play the DVD through my video card's S-Video out. I can't understand what benefit they get from not allowing people to watch DVDs on their PC through a Television, but they programmed it anyway!
(So I ripped it and returned it)
Ahh yes, but how can they prove it? They cannot. They don't have to. Simply suing you is enough for them since Johnny Download would have ot crack the Yellow Pages to hire a Defense Attny.
There's plenty of Classical out there. I stayed home one day and downloaded almost 10 gigs of Classical for my wife. There's more Classical out there than a caffeine-engorged nerd can queue for download in 12-14 hours with a cable modem...
(is it Public Domain??? I assumed so, but I didn't really care/check)
That's more of a mission of love than of photography. I developed negs in Graphic Arts class and it's not THAT difficult. My problem wouldbe finding the dark-room space and setting aside the time to do it.
Be a pal and name those legitimate files "Metallica in Concert - b00tl3g", "Hulk - esot3r1c" and "Britney's Latest Jam". It will provide a nice smoke-screen for everyone else... Thanks!
Given that it's the Indie scene, perhaps a little less "security" would be in order. Who cares if they download the track more than once? Isn't exposure a VERY good thing in this context??? I think an attitude of "Go ahead and get over on my site... see if I care" would save you lots of time/energy in the long run and make the site seem less like an entity designed to separate consumers from their funds...
Don't explain, sell! You think I wanted to sell my belongings and move (away from my friends and family) to NC??? Nope. Did you consider these things when you signed your mortgage and car note??? Did you REALLY??? I pay rent each month, so look elsewhere for tissues.
So move, victim. The range mentioned is fine for Charlotte, NC. We're not that far... You'll be amazed how far your $$$ goes if things are THAT screwy up Nawth in VA.
You claim to have been in "The Biz" for 20 years, yet betray yourself by admitting you tried to buy hardware from Alienware.
You must be so rich that saving a few hundred bucks doesn't matter or your teenaged (pot-smoking, pirated-game-playing) son threw a temper tantrum when you DARED suggest "Dude, you're getting a Dell".
Did you opt to pay the extra $50 for "Conspiracy Blue"???...sucker...
I'd hope that you are just naive, since THAT can be remedied...
Aside from the obvious (I never signed anything but my credit card receipt), you must realize that Microsoft is the entity that decides how much to charge. I hope you weren't implying that they have any inherent rights simply because of the MSRP, as that would be STOOPID (sic).
While you're at it, work on your spelling. Their iz a deference butween There and Their / Your and You're (I won't even get into it's vs. its)
Who cares if it deletes it??? I would much rather have the data stored on the DVD (which could be popped into any DVD-ROM, copied to the HDD and THEN mass-duplicated.
Driving requires a license. You can't get one without knowing how to operate a car... Try again...
Finally someone who makes sense. Do you have a newsletter I can subscribe to??? /unless you are being sarcastic

You don't need a passport to go to Mexico. I doubt you need one for Canada either. If he wants to go, he'll go...
Your best bet is to learn the words: "Oh Canada... Our home and native land..."
Easily attainable for about 10 hours with some LSD...

But if I copy those same files from someone else, I get to pay $150k/file... Nice...
This can easily be resolved using a standard Inertial Damper. Any Starfleet(C) supply company should be able to replicate one...

"theft is theft..." and sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. But if I call a basketball a cigar, that doesn't make it so...

Hope you use Mirroring with your Striping... I lost a 60gb HD in my RAID array with striping only. Sad, sad day for all that pr0n...
Is that enough, or are there legal actions you must take to enforce that copyright?
I thought it you got paid by XYZ for producing Product A, then XYZ owns Product A.
hehehhhh... finding a Windows disc is the easy part now. You must be having moral issues more than technological ones.
Mehh... It's all a bunch of crap anyway...
