Exactly! But I thought that states aren't allowed to tax inter-state commerce? I've seen sites that apply sales tax only if shipping within their own state. No way I'm going to calculate/track sales tax for every state/county/city in America - not to mention international sales. If the IRS has a problem with that, I'll gladly let *them* calculate what I owe (good luck w/that!)
1. Find your song. (That's if they even have that artist/label!) 2. Purchase 3. Wait for download. 4. Burn to cd. 5. Re-rip to mp3 (quality loss, 2nd gen copy.) 6. Load onto non-ipod mp3 player
I hear that those bittorrent sites are very user friendly.
1. Just type the name of the artist, song, or album, and voila! You get a nice neat 2. download (directly into a neat folder, so winamp can find it automagically.) 3. load to mp3, complete with album art and a m3u file.
I don't think itunes is ever going to match that. Nor is napster, musicmatch or any other **AA sanctioned entity. There's no reason to abandon what works ^_^
What do WiFi and Bluetooth have to do with running Skype over a cellular network? This sounds like a red herring to allow them to start talking about "crippling" again. How have the carriers "crippled" their WiFi-enabled phones anyway? This one I have not heard of.
By disabling features such as OBEX push/file transfer, you can be kept from sending files directly from one phone to another, or another computer...without using your cellular modem (possibly at a per-KB rate). Moving pictures/video from your camera would then become a costly affair if you actually use that feature often.
Wifi generally cannot be used for voip at all. This isn't necessairly crippling, but a complete oversight of what consumers want. I have a wireless network at home, why can't my phone support using it instead of a per-minute rate when I'm here, or at work, or at the bookstore.
By opening the network, device makers can be free to innovate in ways that will make the iPhone look like a turd on the sidewalk.
No one wants to be reponsible for allowing some child predator to stalk 13yo boys via a game lobby. Do you want *your* kids meeting talking to DrStr4ng3rD4ng3r? Granted, that's likely somewhat possible already. It'd be easy with lobbies, though - since you could stalk.
That's what I learned on. Hitech's PIC C compiler is a wonderful companion - and quite powerful. Not to mention in-circuit debugging/programming/emulation, advanced features, serial communication, PWM, and simplified clock construction (xtal, some caps, and you're ready to go).
Too true, I got the last available wiimote launch night. But xmas day, Amazon had chuks. I caught it and ordered one - came back an hour later for more...gone. I'm not going to support scalpers, so I've only had the *opportunity* for 1 full controller set.
Quite the opposite, according to politicians - it seems. Just about anyone can have a nuclear program now, we'll only pick on the ones we don't want to have one. "If N. Korea can pull it off, so can you."
...that trigger-happy lawyers should check their facts before they jump onto something. This is likely why apple was 'too busy' to talk to them. If they started using the trademark asap, then this would come along and make it go away without so much as a press release/quote on apple's part.
I keep plenty of room around my wii, and wiiconnect24 doesn't generate a whole lot of heat - it's at least cooler than my AP. Just leave it on, you ought to be fine ^_^
And tuesdays were a big reason: it was my day off work. I could get up before the gf, and enjoy my good old lvl 39....oh wait. The game was awesome, and PvP rocked. The queues to log in, the disconnects, and nerfing of my nightelf priest into oblivion, and not being able to play for over 10 hrs of my "weekend" led to me voting with my dollars and go back to CoH. Maybe I'll give it another go.
I mean, anything *new* that is that good. The launch games have been absolutely stellar. Zelda, Elebits, Madden 07 (gasp, I've hated madden for a decade now!), Trauma Center, and even Red Steel have kept me quite entertained.
The DirectDraw API? Those were the days...the days when 2D programming was actually easier than 3D. Heck, if it weren't for SDL there might not *be* a decent 2D api.
I agree, it is a blast! But we've all be clamoring for SNES version of Bomberman 5 (with the kangaroos, and getting to "interfere" from the sidelines.) It's only 4 players, but it made for a fun party game!
...and here is why:
Freedom of choice, competition, and expression. If someone cobbles together a good story, and a budget, I don't see why is isn't possible to launch an internet-based "cable television network" that reaches across borders, and is safely tucked away from the likes of broadcast networks (clearchannel and company), the Bush regime, and the FCC. It could be cheaper, and shows that die on Fox (Ahem! Serenity!) would live forever
...and everyone is just now going home! My birtday was Nov 19th, and the wii/lan party went from midnight (launch) into today, with varying numbers of people. The one thing that has been consistent:
People who weren't considering getting a wii want one after playing wii sports.
It's simple, it's MUCH better than most reviews give it credit. I think it's meant to wash the unconverted of their hesitance. Red Steel, the other game I picked up for launch, is "ok." I'm expecting some other studio to make something similar, and actually do it right. The game's concept is spot-on, but the execution feels undetailed, and like....a launch game. The sword combat is most dissapointing, I was kinda expecting a hyper-difficult simulator along the lines of "Kengo: Master of Bushido" or "Bushido Blade" - But it's clearly possible, and certainly coming.
It's true. What XBOX360 or PS3 games have you roaring to give up your cash? I might buy 6 *launch* titles, which says a ton about that console. Hell, even E*Frikkin*A is changing the control-scheme for madden enough to wanna *rent* it for a few days and see if Tecmobowl is still king!
I'm not a fanboy, as I have *issues* with the gamecube, and it's requirement to own multiple nintendo ds units just to play a nice 4-player adventure, a severe lack of KOEI games, or 3rd party support in general. But the wii is the correction, and worth being excited about.

Then we'd call you 'Sony'.

In a word:
Liability.

...when the legend of zelda: link to the past is on the VC now!!! (news channel is also available.)

I love happy endings.

Well, if it's any consolation: I don't anymore :-)

This was me and my gf

I love my wii too, problem might be that it'll be *late* 2007 before anything good comes of it. (Metroid, Mario, etc.)
The DirectDraw API? Those were the days...the days when 2D programming was actually easier than 3D. Heck, if it weren't for SDL there might not *be* a decent 2D api.
What does it matter, as soon as your 2 yr old gets ahold of it, the game's over anyway.
"Click Once And Run"...Away?

Yes, I'm an idiot - I decided to wait on Zelda

hence doing it quietly
(quietly points out that it's just an office space reference)
