A month before delivery, you don't have SPRs,' Azmi said
Hahahahaha... Oh man, that's hilarious. You're lucky if you manage to get rid of them all BY the delivery date... But to say that with a month to go, you are just at the "changing colours" stage? That's awesome.
(I assume) Google already trademarked their name, so popularizing the term will not make it impossible for them to trademark it, cause they already hold the trademark.
It won't make it impossible to trademark it, but it WILL make it impossible to hold ON to that trademark if it becomes too generic.
Yes, thank you! This drives me absolutely crazy. As soon as somebody says "this is sure to be a ____-killer", it's almost certain that it won't be. Especially when it comes to ipod-killers.
Bahahahaha! Yes, American college students, they never party! They are all studiously sitting at their desks every Saturday night, because they got all that partying out of the way in high school. It's not like they're living away from home for the first time, and are able to party even MORE frequently/ferociously./sarcasm
If you don't think the majority of slashdot readers are liberal, you are the dimwitted one.
On what are you basing this information? Are you a psychic? I'd say a majority of Slashdot readers are *nerds*, but I would hardly say there's any evidence supporting a theory that all of the readers are liberals. Maybe you think the *commenters* on Slashdot are liberals, but the readers? That seems a bit of a stretch.
Hrmm, let's see here. Telecom providers want to charge for best access to their pipes. Telecom providers buy LOTS OF NETWORK HARDWARE. Suddenly, hardware providers agree with them! I am shocked, SHOCKED to find them in bed together!!
SHOCKED!
Umm... coding has LOTS to do with mathematics. At least, the algorithmic/efficiency side of coding has to do with mathematics. Hence why computer science sits in the mathematics faculty at University of Waterloo, arguably one of the top computer science schools in the world.
There are plenty of stories of AppleCare also totally screwing people over as well (ie: the outside of my powerbook is dented. The infamous logicboard problem occurs, but because there is cosmetic damage to the laptop, Apple refuses to fix it). I'm not saying that Apple is the devil, but they are hardly perfect.
What about if he's screenshotting the maps and such, which I'm pretty sure other guidemakers have paid Blizzard a pretty penny for the right to use those in their own guides? Those would constitute a pretty large portion of the game.
I totally want to find this guide now though!:)
The blood of the Dreamcast is on my stupid hands.
No, the blood of the Dreamcast is on the hands of Sega, who failed to make ANY kind of decent effort at promoting it, not to mention failing to keep any good third party developers around.
Microsoft supported NT 4.0 until the end of 2004 (released 1996). Windows 2000 (released only a year after OS 9) only finished mainstream support in June of last year, and still continues on in their extended support program, most likely to continue doing so for at least 2-3 more years. I don't know what Apple's support program for older OSes is, but you're wrong when you say "I don't think any vendor is still providing support for these older systems".
Agreed. Not to mention the fact that EVERY SINGLE ALBUM (or just about) is released by ripping groups in 192 (or higher) kbit mp3, which sounds just dandy. MP3 might be dying for the iTunes/iPod crowd, but those of us in the DRM-hatin crowd are happily mosying along with our mp3s, thank you very much.
Hrmm... I don't really think the reason the Dreamcast failed was because it "did too much". Dreamcast was a great platform with some great games, but Sega did basically dick all to promote it. Add in the fact that 3rd party developers like EA didn't hop on board (love em or hate em, if you don't have EA on your platform it's going to be a lot harder to get the frat boys to jump on the bandwagon) and suddenly you are looking at a console flop.
Even better - do what my girlfriend's company does, and put "I love you" in the "bad words" filter for your mail server, rejecting every single email containing the phrase "I love you" (except if the "I love you" is in the subject, those can go through. Even though the iloveyou virus specifically put "I love you" in the subject). Took us a while to figure out why my messages kept bouncing, it's not like I was calling her a filthy c-word.
Best. Security. Evar.
Exactly! Early feedback appears to say that it is both impressive, and a piece of shit. What?

Didn't RTFA, but I'm curious - did they poll the same percentage of the population in each country?

And how much of that profit is due to AdSense click fraud?
It's not my fault! At last, vindication! "Honey, I HAD to buy that new digital camera. You understand." :)

The term "supercritical nuclear power" scares me.
Why don't ISPs just offer this as an additional, pay-for service? You can be sure that lots of dumbass parents would be willing to pay for it.
Broadband for some, miniature American flags for others!
Pre-sp2, XP's built in wifi support was BAD. Horribly, HORRIBLY bad.

"Jihad" is Arabic for "roundhouse kick" isn't it?
Sounds easier (and cheaper) than replacing your entire blackberry network with something new.
