So if a message doesnt get delivered to the device, it gets delivered to an email account associated with the device?
If I turn off all my iDevices and have a friend with an iphone me, since the message doesnt have a device to connect with, it sends to my registered email and i receive it there?
It would be interesting to try out but i'm highly suspicious.
Uber isn't comprised of just uber-x(personal cars). In chicago, we have registered taxis, town cars and SUVs that operate with livery lics. Also, if you look up chicago uber chart, you should find a graphic that shows it's uber drivers are required to hold more insurance than standard taxis, especially for uber-x. http://blog.uber.com/chistanda...
OR, how about you bought a computer, paid for AOL that allowed you access to games and bought a game tied to AOL. Canceled AOL and still think you should have access to said game.
Also, you still need steam to authenticate once in awhile, it just so happens that steam isnt a paid for membership.
Uber has been a part of my way of transportation for 2 years now in Chicago. I dont have cabs that come by and walking to an area that does is about 4 city blocks away. Not completely undoable but not always the best choice.
Since Uber(personal car, taxi and black car) has come around in Chicago, i have been able to get a car instantly where ever i am and for a reasonable cost. Doing that thru a taxi service usually takes about 30-60min on a good night. Also, you get a reciept AND a map of route taken in email once the ride is done. This done automatically thru the service. The drive can not accept another fair until they end the current one. I also find its safer(rape, murder, etc) since all of this is tracked, you can see a picture of the driver before hand AND their rating by other passangers.
I was just visiting California and needed a ride back to the hotel after a long day of walking around Monterey Bay. Taxis? none in site. Uber? 3 uberx in the area. Guess which ill choose?
Also, not all areas have the same that Chicago does(uberx, taxi and black cars) so I understand you dont have all the same choices. Its a great service for those that want to use it. Dont knock it! hah
I live in Chicago and have been using Uber for over 2 years now. I cant get taxis in my area(industrial, no cars drive thru, calling a taxi takes about an hour with planning) and Uber(uberx, taxi or black car) have ALWAYS come thru for me. Usually within 5-10 minutes. Rates are resonable and you get to track your ride, share a fair with a friend, get a buddy home whos too drunk to do it on their own and get confirmation they were dropped off at the rigth place.
Im having a hard time understanding why it doesnt work for you.
Thats and interesting statistic. So does that mean most criminals are repeat offenders? If so, should we just make it a 3 strikes rule and youre unfit for society?
I would agree with this if it was a sale/transfer from one company to the next but it wasnt. This is like if someone gets kicked out of a house, they need to relinquish their keys, especially if they are the only ones that have it. THEN, they can change the locks and doors after they gain entry back in.
This will solve the problem of it using so many cycles. Seriously, you couldn't have done a quick Internet search for a solution and instead write a whole post about it?
I turned this off when it first started causing problems and haven't had a problem since.
How does being liberal have to do anything with where trains go? Hating on a group just to hate?
Here in Chicago, you can get anywhere by train and bus combo. Even in the burbs, same deal. It may not drop you off at the door step but it will get you relatively close.
Agreed with the logmein/admin solution. Quick and painless and as long as the computer is connected to the internet, you can gain access and fix. Meaning, mom doesnt have to sit there and wait for your to do stuff. I have this loaded on all of my PCs here and at my parents house.
I recently was in the market for a new screen when I upgraded to a laptop and lost the ability to use my 3 19in(square haha) monitors. I ended up going with a 16:10 1920x1200 dell IPS monitor. They are available, just need to pay a little more for them.
hilarious...but this is the problem with BYOD type stuff(and Android fragmentation). I work at a company that allows people to buy their own phones and bring them in and get email set up on them. I cant tell you how many different ways there are to get to the same settings on an android phone. Its in stark contrast to the way iOS devices work since they are all the same. Like it or not, this is how it is with android phones.
No worries! Its all good. I hate when I encounter other photogarphers who are territorial instead of helpful or even communicative for the sake of community. I also think unions need to die as well... Hell, if this gets thru the system and I dont need permits anymore, more power to all the creative types!
Please explain how I have no credibility? I do this as a part time thing and yes, I would consider myself professional but in no way am I trying to bar other people from doing creative things. You forget how litigious the American public can be. If I slip, fall and break an arm in your house, I can sue you. If I slip, fall and break an arm in the park, guess who has the right to sue? The permit has some legal mumbo jumbo in it about not being able to sue and the liability insurance handles any costs that may arise incase something does happen. Everyones ass is covered.
The way i look at it(im a photographer), is that the permit IS necessary. The argument that its a small production and like a family pulling out a video camera and nothing like a large production is that they are intentionally filming this for monetary reasons and IF they arent, how can they prove that? The 2 million policy isnt absurd at all, all parks and buildings in IL, especially chicago, require this. I have liability coverage up to 3mil and its only $600 a year. Pretty reasonable for what it covers(theft, damage, injury, TRAVEL).
If youve got a crew of people, and this is going to be posted online or used anywhere for public viewing, you have to follow the rules. No ifs, ands or buts.
How is this any different than phones running Android or Symbian? The OS is developed, then phone manufacturers aquire the OS, adapt it to their hardware and then lock it down. If you want to boot something else, you have to hack it. I dont see you up in arms about it, you just deal with it.
It was only a matter of time before this started happening with computers too.
exactly what i was thinking. Along with the cancellation of the gold member plan(upgrades every year), this points directly to the Iphone and limiting any problem they might incur with a swam of people getting on their network.
Not to mention a voided warranty for phone....
When will people realize that Android ISNT OPEN! its locked down once a manufacturer gets their hands on it. By unlocking the phone, they make it same like they are appealing to the masses but they arent. Open your eyes!
Sorry, but hes the CIO. He should have no comment on any other part of the government since what he says wouldnt be valued by the public eye since its "not his area of expertise" We are lucky he even said this. Should the CIO of a company be calling out the Marketing Dept? How about HR?

Wait, what? Im confused. what side are you on? Im an iPhone user...wait, maybe thats why im confused. nm, carry on.
I thought it wasnt a secret anymore and there was a 250gb cap in place. I could be wrong but i vaguely remember hearing this a couple years ago.

May I ask why you have this view of Uber?

I'll bite!
If you had to choose one of the reasons you stated above as a reason why you like to own guns, which one would it be?
And yes, zombie apocalypse defense is a valid answer.

Ha! I thought he was going to go back over and try and broker a peace deal?!

You must not have a webpage that you maintain..

if youre adding the n't to couldnt, why cant we just keep it the same way?
