  1. Re:FM Radio on Sony takes on iPod Shuffle · · Score: 4, Interesting

I'd love to have both FM and AM on my mp3 player - the sound on AM might not be that good, but I enjoy listening to talk stations such as Radio 5 (a BBC news/sport channel in the UK). I'm sure basic FM/AM support wouldn't be too expensive, and I'd be swayed towards a model with this feature.

Yes, a DAB radio would be nice, but I don't really need it, and I think the extra cost would be too much for most people.

There is an awkward silence when the subject of the final episode is broached. "I don't know where to begin with that one," she finally stammers. "The final episode is ... appalling."

Viewers pay £10 per month, which is spent in the following way:
    £5 - terrestrial TV
    £1 - digital
    £1.20 - radio
£1.50 - local TV and radio
    £0.30 - Online
£1 - transmission and collection of licence fee

The Wine WinMM.dll uses the Wine key and as such ReactOS will fail the check as well.

This check creates a possibile vulnerability for future trojans/viruses to exploit - they could just place this Wine key into the Windows registry, and thus block Windows updates for the user.

You can see this for yourself here. (I'm using a Google cache link here because the Steam forums are down - coincidentally they went down at a time when some people are having problems updating HL2).

Incidentally, if you look at point 2, you will see that Valve claim that all Steam accounts sold on eBay are "either Stolen accounts or opened with stolen credit cards". So, bear that in mind if you decide to sell your legally purchased HL2 on eBay.

  24. Re:Just tried it on Picasa 2.0 Released, Reviewed · · Score: 2, Informative
A great thing about this program is that any edits that you make to your pictures aren't actually written to the original file.

    From the help file:

Picasa never saves over your original files, so you'll never ruin or damage a picture by editing it. Picasa preserves your original photo as a digital negative, so every edit you make is fully undoable. If you want to work with your edited pictures in other programs, you should export or save a copy of them.

For an average home user, this seems great, as it effectively stops somebody overwriting their original files with, say, a badly cropped version, and then later being unable to go back to the original as they've overwritten it. Any changes you make with Picasa don't affect the actual file, as it seems that it transparently applies the changes every time you load. The one downside of this is that you can't open the 'modifed' version in another program (without exporting it) but for an average user who just wants to do simple work on their own photos, it seems great.
