    Im actually in favor of a 90 percent inheritance tax, mainly for passing on small family mementos.
    Mostly because I have seen too many people behaving badly to obtain/steal/get stuff from sick family members.

    interesting memory. My Grandmother, who was certifiably poor, had the same cheese. I can still remember her bringing some when she visited, as it gave her a sense of contribution to meals, etc.

    Flat tax. No deductions. Done. Of course you'd then have people hiding income, but that's more easily addressed.

    I always used to think that, but recently changed my opinion a bit. For example, at my job we often deploy older mac laptops. I thought the aluminum frame was a gimmick, but you know what? They're in-damn-destructable. They get beat and keep on going.
    Some of their over the top engineering has purpose.

    Yeah, but he does have a choice of constantly travelling to California, shutting down roads and disrupting traffic, etc. for fundraising only. And yes, I know, "his campaigning will elect people even BETTER at helping the environment, blah blah blah".

    I love when my Canadian friends talk about how accepting and multicultural they are, being isolated so far north from significant land immigration traffic.
    I always offer that we can place buses at the US/Mexico border with a sign saying "free trip to Canada", and drop off anyone who wishes to ride on the Canadian side of the border.

A lot of people have been gravitating to him because they've been told for years that they're imagining their lower class station, they're actually the oppressors, since someone who looks like them did bad things years ago. That someone else needs more help, and the fact that they're poor and worthless flies in the face of their obvious benefits gained for being big fat racists.
    And told. and told and told.
    It's all about class, and these lower class people who aren't of the correct oppressed race have been fed a stream of race division. So not only are they poor and live shitty lives, they're ignored. Imagine you live in a bad part of Appalachia, barely get by, poor with no future, and all the news carries is how some black guy( not you) in St. Louis ( A city, not your country life) got shot, and your kid's hooked on meth.
    Then along comes the blowhard, who essentially says "Hey, I see you, here's some [insert nonsensical ideas and bromides that appeal to their class, not race]. and they eat it up.

    I'm not at all surprised by this. It's simply backlash.

    I continually wonder how many works of art/inventions that were previously invented when people were daydreaming wouldn't have been because that person was playing Angry Birds instead.

    2) Patient successfully raises 20K US$ and pays for surgery.
    3) Hospital raises price of future surgeries to 40K US$

    It's like College costs, the more money that flows in, the more is absorbed.
