You know, a country with a perfectly benevolent dictator is the ultimately perfect government, but the risk for corruption is so huge we try not be dictatorial.
Same thing applies with your statement: yes, a really nice happy government controlling everything peacefully would be great. your objective should be to have the government have just enough power to do it's job, but no more. The argument should be over where that line is.
Quite frankly, I am. However, should that occur, a machine would be created to harvest lettuce for $8/head. There would be a huge incentive to do so.
Your argument is like saying, in 1850, "Are you willing to pay $1 a pound for cotton? Because that is what it costs when it's picked by non-slaves"
Honestly, why is not liking Obama or his policies "hate"?
People lost their jobs, it sucks.
He's blaming it on Obama's policies.
Is he right? I dunno.
Is it hate? Nah.
We don't even need that. We just need TWO rail lines. In California, taking Amtrak involves sitting on a siding half the time waiting for a freight train ( whose company owns the rails Amtrak rents) to drive by.
Adding one more rail line next to it would solve this problem easily.
I've always thought, assuming the existence of heaven and hell, that both would be either bad or good based on the people in them.
So ignoring holy rollers and those who spout fire and brimstone, heaven would be good because those there would be good/enjoyable to be around.
Hell would be full of pompous windbags, douchy bosses, etc.
Same here, same shit. In fact, they used to joke about how if the table was all guys, they wouldn't be able to make the jokes, then they'd look at me and laugh.
You know what? I didn't die.
"Why should I risk personal harm in defending my rights, when the government exists to defend them?"
My God, if that sentence didn't burn your fingers typing it, then there is something wrong with you.
Some would argue, myself not being one of them, that both of these statements would only be racist if the group was deriding a group more oppressed than their own.
That racism only flows from powerful to less powerful, otherwise it's not.
I agree with many of your ideas, but disagree with the statement on CD-ROM replacing the internet. At the time Encarta was rolled out on CD, the internet for most users wasn't capable of transferring even vaguely small files, and most people had dialup access. Always on access was unheard of for most. CD Distribution, at the time, made sense.
I've often wondered, if you agree to "buy" something, but I'm really only "licensing"it, isn't the store that sold it guilty of fraud? If I walk into best buy, ask to buy a sony digital camera, but get home to find I've got a Sarny, isn't it the same thing as buying a DVD but only finding I've licensed it?
You don't break in and steal an account on a whim, and then post bad press on apple as your joke. If it was all script kiddies and fools, I'd expect more "my penis is tiny" posts.
Your comment makes no sense to me, other than perhaps as trolling. I see nothing wrong with the Parent's statement, and sometimes maintaining knowledge is expensive, but far less expensive than relearning it.

I have a friend who worked in a supermarket, and was required to join the union. How is this in any way "membership is optional"?
why 1000000? Why not 1500000 or 750000? Or for that matter 100000?
"There is a huge opportunity there. Get real money, actually WORK with Ellison and his original scripts, and you would have a great series."
There's your problem, the working with Ellison part. From what I've seen in history it's next to impossible.
Honestly, why is not liking Obama or his policies "hate"? People lost their jobs, it sucks. He's blaming it on Obama's policies. Is he right? I dunno. Is it hate? Nah.
noooooo!!! Don't suggest that! Shhhh!
I know of no non-technical Linux users, on the desktop.

Your explanation made my head hurt.
write off anything that occurs when you've been sleeping, or are sleep deprived. Your brain does weird stuff in half awake half asleep states.

People need to take offense less. That way, when something TRULY offensive comes along, shouting "I'm offended!" doesn't sound so meaningless.
You know what? Why not? Unlike a corporation, she's not going to live forever.

Ugh, let it go, or we'll be back pissed off cause monkey A bashed in monkey B's head with a rock.
Seriously? I'm sorry, but get over it. If it didn't happen to you, your parents, or your grandparents: let it go.

logical fail.
Whether you agree or disagree, you can be humble and have those beliefs.
