Odd, I've had tons and tons of pages open before and never seen it go above 40 MB.
You're right. That is odd because I've just started FF and I'm at 53MB. I've seen it hit 180MB before. It's absolutely crazy. But I'll stick with it until it effects my machine's performance.
Why it's wrong is that users pay a fee for using their cd-rs for any legitimate content, and anyone that uses their computer is similarly paying a fee, for the possibility that they might do something illegal with their machine.
The grandparent was originally talking about Canada. Copying music isn't illegal in Canada. You may legally upload and download all the music you want because everyone pays the tax.
If Apple hadn't stolen/borrowed the GUI from Xerox, it might never have seen the light of day.
What are you on about? Apple bought it from Xerox fair and square. Even that crummy made-for-tv movie Pirates of Silicon Valley got that right. In fact, PARC wasn't even able to sell the concept to Xerox's board. So if they didn't even know what they had or cared what they did with it, why give them the credit? They were too blind to even see what they had. They're dumbasses and deserve to be relegated to the history bin of shame.
As such, I think it looks quite similar to every other hi-fi device I won - black, with a colored LED-ish LCD panel.
And cubical? How in Hell's name am I supposed to fit that thing in my entertainment rack? It's twice as high as my DVD player. It looks absolutely ridiculous. Then again, since it doesn't have to even be in the same room as my entertainment system I guess it doesn't matter. But then why try to make it look like a "hi-fi" device? It's so confusing. Is it a bad looking computer or an entertainment device with a non-standard form factor?
She can't be that big of a geek if she didn't already own them. BTW, the reason that set is so cheap is because it's missing the fifth volume: Mostly Harmless.
It's not meant to be practical. It's put in place so that if you're caught again doing something illegal on the Internet they can nail you on breaking the ban and give you a heavier sentence.
Why would I want the hassle of having to scan items in and out of my frig like a damn library when I can easily see if I'm out of milk or not? This is the craziest idea I've ever heard. It'd be something else if the frig was automatically scanning its contents and then you could log into it to see. So if I'm out and about and can't remember if I have butter then I could check remotely. But manually scanning the items is not very convenient.
Oh well thank for that valuable insight sir. You know, here on Slashdot we don't need little tags to keep everything straight for us and to tell us how to think. Thanks though.

What Find function can't search inside a file? I've been searching inside files since DOS.
That's great and all but if you bothered to read the post you'd see that the new system extends the current limit from 25 miles not to 25 miles.
Or "software provider" which would cover the spyware authors themselves. Surely Claria Corporation is a software provider.
It's not to the customer who wants to be able to track his package in real time.

Yeah, because so many Live Journalers have reporters and researches out in the field collecting hard news.
Lucasarts released Maniac Mansion and The Adventures of Zack McCracken as free downloads. What do I need a remake for?
The simple truth is that interstellar distances will not fit into the human imagination
- Douglas Adams
Seems to me that that's Douglas Adams' opinion.

Guess you're not familiar with the name Shigeru Miyamoto or any of his work.
...there are individual Wal-Marts that sell more than 2.8 million units per day.
I never thought I'd live to see the day when humans would take to the air.
Speakeasy even has a plan to allow this.
Yeah actually it does. You just need to buy the GBA SP wireless adaptor.

I'm surprised this wasn't posted under YRO.

Damned if they do, damned if they don't. Seems to me they should get some credit for trying to mend their ways.

Actually he means that there are shells out there like Avant Browser that are superior to AOL's proposed shell.

Especially as seeing she's a poor old lady.
He probably did mean day. And that would be $65CDN.
